Ivan Desyatov suspended by SafeSport

OK, loud enough for people going around with a "nothing to see here" attitude about these teen marriages that aren't technically illegal.
While there is no crime being committed outright with the marriages, there are concerns stemming from them as they all come from the same camp, involve barely legal adults, and were hidden. This environment seems ripe for grooming and human trafficking considering people like Ivan have stated that Isabella's family pays for everything and provides boarding for an expected service that he is to provide. Clearly it's an environment that allowed Ivan to abuse the victim (or if done elsewhere, at least get away with it) so these "little details" of questionable marriages also adds to the picture of a skating club that should have an eye kept on them--those details don't exist in a vacuum.
It is correct that the major issue at hand is the very credible allegation of abuse against Ivan, but let's also not be obtuse and turn our noses at a credible concern that arose from unearthing these facts at that camp and the potential for abuse in that situation too. I swear these people saying this situation isn't odd are the ones that then turn around 6 months later after allegations come to light and feign, "how could anyone have known?" It's OK to think critically sometimes.

The 2024 Skate America which just completed in Allen TX. The President of the Dallas Figure Skating Club is Mary Pottenger; her son Steve has a hearing on October 24th in Michigan for “criminal S conduct - 4th degree, the victim is between 13-16”. It was a bit disconcerting to learn that USFS sent Jeffrey Chen with Annabelle Morozov to Skate America when he is facing a SafeSport investigation; if this is true, it means USFS knew about this pending investigation and decided to send them anyway? Troubling…also IAM has still not really been transparent about Sorensen.

Annabelle Morozov (Nikolai Morozov’s daughter) married Igor Eremenko (from Russia) In Broward, Florida on May 16, 2023 and now she is skating with Jeffrey Chen who has a SafeSport pending investigation and was sent by USFS to Skate America is very troubling

It is possible that the victim in the case which has led to the Safe Sport suspension could have been an IAM skater, but we do not know. There is a female IAM skater currently taking a break as a result of being sexually assaulted at a competition last year. She did compete at a competition in Hungary last season which Desyatov also competed at, but that could be complete coincidence and we have absolutely no evidence that her assault and his suspension are in any way connected.
What we do have evidence of is the marriage between Isabella Flores and Ivan Desyatov. This marriage was not ever announced in any way, whereas Neset/Markelov were very public about theirs. People have found this odd, given that Isabella Flores has a greater social media presence. We also know that a third WASA ice dance team were recently married very young without any announcement (I have forgotten who).

I wasn’t questioning the age gap - In my opinion, it was that he lived with the family prior to the marriage and yes it was arranged for his own benefit - her own interests have been ruined due to this Safe Sport investigation on Desyatov
It’s not the age that is suspicious per se. IMHO it’s more to do with the secrecy, especially considering how much of her life is on social media.
Furthermore, she was born and raised in a culture where getting married at 19 after 3 months together is not the norm. I’m not saying it can’t happen, just that it’s outside the average.
Especially when there are several other teen brides where their training takes place.
To me it’s the same as the Russian doping. Sure only Valieva tested positive but it’s not like we don’t all know how he whole team was more likely than not to also be on the same regime.
People need to stop this being so naive.

I suggest to take your own advice and put blame where blame is due, which is not IAM. Not sure why you even brought them up unless you're speculating about the nature of the victim which is a real choice. It's WASA with these marriages and where Ivan is currently when he got suspended.
Not sure what's funny but you might have a rather naive view of human trafficking as a seedy crime involving sex workers and drugs or what not but in reality they tend to look more like this situation. In Ivan's case, he literally came over and got married in 3 months... like, c'mon. Not saying it for sure is, but this situation with the other rent-a-Russian marriages at WASA raise eyebrows.

Sanctions were imposed on Belarus at the time 25k was crowdfunded for Ivan to be released by the federation. (This seems suspicious)

Yes, correct. I should have been clearer and said I was referring to the 3 marriages at WASA. The Morozov marriage is also questionable considering they're clearly apart right now but there isn't a pattern at whatever camp she's in.

How do we know about Chen’s Safesport investigation?
If this is accurate, why wouldn’t they send another team?
I was just told this weekend that the Dallas Figure Skating Club is the wealthiest figure skating club in the US.

No, and she shouldn't be judged by it, but in a practical sense she is going to find it hard if he is not cleared, and that quickly. Fair or not, she now looks like losing a second partner in another highly publicised mess, and from what I gather her social media 'influencing' which is a big part of their pr success has been heavily if not almost entirely based on this partnership with Desyatov.
