2024 Skate Canada Men's Free Skate

Yamamoto always leaves me cold and this was no exception. He has no musicality and the music, especially the second half, is much too big for him. The program’s also very empty. The SP is better for hiding all of that.

This rather won't be enough for a medal for Sota. And sadly I have to say that I dislike the music for his FS, it seems like a highly generic OST, almost as if composed by AI.

Sota may look like a blueberry soda in his costume, but he performs like a fine wine...

Also, the second half of his music is the opening theme to the video game Civilization 6, a game I've played many hours of! I do think the music is a little big for him, but it sure was a surprise for me to see two of my interests colliding! :O

JC Penney had a signature fashion line called Continuous Fringe back in the '70s and I still have several garments from their collection locked up in my secure blouse cabinet.
They may come back into fashion, and you can fish them out. I have resurrected forgotten clothes from my secure under-bed storage.

Sota is usually a hard watch for me because he usually has the most empty programs and zero performance. But, this program is progress.

Now for my baby, Shun! Shun go go go!

Wow, Sota! I am pretending the second quad toe doesn't exist. The 4T+3T was gorgeous, and his spread eagle in his choreo sequence was a thing of beauty. The way he got close to the boards, though, he was really making sure he covered as much of the ice surface as possible. I spent the second half going "This is Christopher Tin's Sogno di Volare, right? Right?" and hurried off to check as soon as the skate was over. That was a beautiful skate, even if he's dropped a place.
