I agree with you sans Oona and Gage, aside from a few teams US ice dance is losing my interest too

Neset/Markelov are perhaps on their way to becoming my favorite US dance team currently. I think Carreira/Ponomarenko are overrated. Nguyen/Kolesnik had the potential to be a team to challenge for a world or Olympic podium. A pity that partnership dissipated.

Ian Somerville is a wonderful ice dancer, but the history of major mistakes for this team has been extremely frustrating!

The fact that they kept this program for another season almost makes me paranoid that they have a personal goal for me and my ears to suffer. Maybe pick on someone whose vision and hearing is at least largely intact next time!

Have never been a fan of Bratti/Sommerville and I thought the music choice would turn me off, but they've changed my mind here. The skating was so light. It looked like they were floating. Their extension is also gorgeous.

So... reminder that Ichat's opinions are not worth much, and here goes:
1) If you love Neset/Markelov good for you, you can get joy from something that I cannot get joy from
2) CPom have had their ups and downs but I like them well enough
3) Nguyen/Kolesnik had absolutely magical chemistry but Mr. Shpilband would've had to politick hard for them, Vadym was and is phenomenal but Avonley, bless her and her acting skills, had weaker edges. I'm still sad that they split though, Vadym does not have that magical chemistry with his current partner and that doesn't help when coupled with the Shpilband choreo they get
