The time taken to choreograph the FD is significant. Often 1month or more of work for teams like them. The only thing they could do is return to a previous FD, but that too would get scrutiny.

But I think today was generally an off day, with a huge mistake, with an unfavourable tech panel (with a known IAM favourable tech specialist). I'd expect them to be much sharper next event.

Yes, me too. When chock/bated had a major mistake they still managed to score over 200 points overall

Although congrats to L/B, with a gold they have pretty much bagged a spot at their home GPF!

Chock & Bates did not miss an element and that was the reason they lost less points - the shock effect was the same however.

I definitely think they are the front runners for a European medal in January. R/A and T/V do not seem to be as popular with the judges this season.

That’s not great for R/A as the Lithuanian govt only seems more favourable to Allison’s citizenship application because of the medals they won last year, so they really need to win a Grand Prix medal if they want to make it to the Olympics

That was overall a pretty brutal set of dances I didn't like. Much preferred last week's Skate Canada ice dance offerings. Either I didn't like the music, or it wasn't very well-skated — or, sadly, in far too many cases here, both.

I hated SKAM... I loved SCI... and this is ... wow... i just like that the skaters who made mistakes paid for them and skaters who did well, were rewarded..

the two seeded teams were upset by lower ranked teams and that's good for the sport.

Oh wow did not expect such a big drop....

Two things:

1) They were off the whole dance. The starting lift, twizzles - most elements were wobbly

2) Judges are clear that they won't let the same three teams get on the podium for the third year in a row.

It wasn't just one mistake. But even so, I'd think they have to at least consider it.

I often hate pre-Olympic years. There is a lot of juggling and opportunism that happens and many dreams are damaged by the skaters and the officials.

I don't believe that robots produced in 2024 would be dressed a skeletons wearing diapers. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Or perhaps they are going for retrofuturism?

I would prefer if they both wore black leather or some other kind of bodysuit costume.

Funnily enough I saw someone on twitter wishing for this the other day...personally I don't mind the program but detest the costumes. It's nice to see new concepts and theme in ice dance... They could always go back to an older FD if they wish.
