I often hate pre-Olympic years. There is a lot of juggling and opportunism that happens and many dreams are damaged by the skaters and the officials.

I don't know why you are assuming she "gave" them anything. Outside of IAM, most senior teams independently choose the FD concept (and then coach approves it).

I hated SKAM... I loved SCI... and this is ... wow... i just like that the skaters who made mistakes paid for them and skaters who did well, were rewarded..

the two seeded teams were upset by lower ranked teams and that's good for the sport.

I had a Chock/Bates mega fan tell me last season that they could skate messy and fall and still beat a clean Gilles/Poirier. I told the C/B fan that no, they could not and should not beat a clean G/P. It just amazes me that any fan of this sport would support such egregious judging. If a dance event was that predetermined and skewed to a particular result regardless of the quality of performances delivered, then this is not a sport and should be stripped from the Olympic movement.

That was overall a pretty brutal set of dances I didn't like. Much preferred last week's Skate Canada ice dance offerings. Either I didn't like the music, or it wasn't very well-skated — or, sadly, in far too many cases here, both.

Yes, this was my least favourite line-up as I’m not really invested in any of the teams although there are a few teams I like.

Knowing Barbara, she will just make them train harder those unbelievably hard (and ugly) lifts to close the tech gap and that's it. No program change. No new outfits.

I agree. I have to say, scores aside, the placements (in both segments) at this competition feel very fair. Mistakes in ice dance, especially huge mistakes, deserve to be penalised. I just wish the judges carried this through every competition.

This further supports that this event not just dance is not the pinnacle of skating. I am so disappointed. Yay for Bratti and Sommerville though it seems they were more lucky to be at this event then anything. So the winners are a team that would not be in the top five at worlds And they did deserve to win. If the Italians were going to retire it would have been at the end of the worlds 2024. Now they are going for oly gold

oh yeah.. sorry.. that's what you were referring to... you know... i have to say that Marie-France falling hurt me so much... yes, i felt the pain physically that i have blocked that event from my memory. So even the Babs stare.. is like secondary...

Not all CB fans are obnoxious, I hope you don't consider me obnoxious because I am a fan and believe the CB won last year's RD and G/P absolutely won the FD. Right now G/P have the winning RD of all the dances I have seen this season. CB have a lot of work to do on their programs.
