Yay, what a great skate to open up this competition! I love Daiwei's skating - it's so reminiscent of Han Yan's skating (they have the same coach). Hopefully, he does not have the same issues as Han Yan from 10 years ago. The skating skills, the knees, the height and old-school technique on the jumps, the rock music... I am seeing ghosts a bit. Look at that ice coverage on the overhead camera in that step sequence... so much flow!

Don't think I've seen Daiwei before, but I really enjoyed that programme.

Never heard that song before (or heard tell of the band performing it), but I loved it!

I love the costume too, but I'm not sure it goes with the music.

Yes, I'll be keeping an eye out for him in the future.

I love this program for Yudong, he's so lovely on the ice and I think Shae choreo looks great on him. I feel like he's been perpetually injured, though, so I am always a little bit worried about him, especially because he has grabbing his leg a bit in warmup. At least that skate gave me nothing to worry about - I love that we're opening with two mostly clean skates! It is a bit disconcerting to hear his toe picks after Daiwei - CoC uses special dishes to pick up the noises from the ice and so you can hear who drags their toe picks on the ice rather than letting their edges build speed.
