With Deniss, you can hear the crunch of the edge rather than the grate of the toe - hence his fantastic skating skills. He's such a good spinner and skater and performer, but I really wish he wouldn't do the 4S in the short. I know it's more consistent in practice, but a clean 3F will net him far more points than his 4S, and here it really detracted from all of the other elements as well.

That step sequence is fire. I'm still very upset he refuses to ditch the damn quad.

Vasiljev’s layout is just silly. You can count one one hand the amount of times he’s landed the 4S yet he wants to put it in the short. It takes away so much to start a program with such a big mistake. He already lost me within the first minute and he didn’t get my attention back.

Also, I must note, his triples are so beautiful and high. Not liking the fact how GOE is so much hinged on running edge, and not so much with height. I've seen high GOEs with erratic small triples with smooth running edge. I find that a bit unfair.
