Samo with the free skate win over the woman who finished 4th at World's. Despite Levito still getting many favourable calls in the free skate, Samo still overcomes it and takes the free skate win. IMO, Samo should have had the overall win if the judging was objective (my opinion happy to back up with photo evidence).
Huge progress, and I think this is just the start. The program is only going to improve over the next 6 months. And I suspect they will insert a 3A come Milan 2026.
A real step forward today to defeat the former American champion and former World medallist in the free skate in her home country. That is a big win. Plus 200. Once Sakamoto retires, it's only Shimada who will be out of reach. Everyone else will be beatable.

True. Even then, Sakamoto scored less than 202 on 3/9 her results. 33% not too rare. How many ladies internationally are even scoring 200+ regularly? Like 5? Amber and Isabeau are quite unstable. In theory Samodelkina could take an Oly medal. Its only August now I'm looking at the other girls' scores in peak season. Need to get the levels up in the next few months. Its possible... I mean her 2A looks enormous and I am not even going to say where I'm extrapolating from there.

Raf can talk about being a long liver in the sport all he wants and building step by step (which Samo has), but if the 3A is 50/50 in training come early February and she is looking at being 6th-10th at best with almost no chance of winning a medal (especially with how they hold her back), then even he understands the 3A is worth gambling with.
