2025 Ephesus Cup | Jan 20-26

Oh, looks like only two on the ice. I fear we have more withdrawals.

Yep, the announcer just told us that #6 Ege İLTER (TUR) and #8 Efe Ergin DİNÇER (TUR) have withdrawn.

What is going on?! In the first 2 days, we only had 2 withdrawals, and one of them was after the SP. Today, we have had 8! :drama:

It'll be interesting to see if they make changes to the schedule tomorrow.

EDIT: Just compared the timetable on the Entries / Results Page to the timetable in the OP of this thread. They have already made the changes.

"An American In Paris"? Nope, a Turk in İzmir! :)

Mehmet Cenkay KARLIKLI (TUR) goes into 3rd position, plugging what had been a massive 18.55 point gap behind the Kazakh skaters.

And we finish the day with Furkan Emre İNCEL (TUR)

And he further reduces the advantage that the Kazakh skaters have. He goes into 3rd position, just 2.16 points behind Artur SMAGULOV (KAZ).

So, we now have a three way battle for the title!

It's going to make for an exciting finish to tomorrow's action, seeing if he can spoil things for the Kazakh boys.

Day 4 sees the skaters that were in action yesterday return to do their Free Skates. And unlike what we had on Wednesday, this time we have the same running order as the day before.

Today starts with an Advanced Novice Singles double-bill, and then concludes with a Junior Singles double-bill. In each case, it is girls then boys.

I will watch as much as I can, but I may not see it all because we have a red weather warning at the moment due to Storm Éowyn coming through, and the lights have already flickered a number of times. So, I would not be surprised if we lose power.

Livestream for the Advanced Novice Ladies FS is now on air.

Here is the link to today's livestream:

You can find all the other links you may need in the OP of this thread.

Hope this helps

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

I'm still here.

We just have the 2 boys to go before the dinner break. So, hopefully I will see them too.

Here they come

And that's it for the Advanced Novices.

We now have a dinner break of about 45 minutes, and then the Juniors start at the top of the hour.

The afternoon session is starting now with the Juniors concluding their campaigns.

I think Buse SEZERER (TUR) has missed a trick here. Since she is doing a James Bond programme, she could have disguised her knee brace as a holster. If you remember, when the Kovalevs first started doing their James Bond programme last season, Camille was wearing a holster on her leg.

That was lovely. As Buse was coming off the ice, the next skater, Esma ÖKTEM (TUR), gave her a big hug. According to Rink Results, they belong to different clubs in Istanbul.

I've been wondering this since I saw the entries, and I finally went hunting during the Warm-Up.

The skater that just opened Group 2 of the Junior Ladies FS, Selin UĞURAL (TUR), is indeed the sister of the girl that was second to skate in the Advanced Novice Ladies FS earlier, Elif UĞURAL (TUR).

With being a local skater, Selin has a big crowd with her. And I don't know if Elif is amongst them.

Unfortunately, Elif finished in last position in Advanced Novices. But Selin has just gone into the lead of Juniors.

Arina transfer came out of no where just at the beginning of this season she was still competing in moscow championships

It makes sense she has so much potential that you could see her medalling in junior nats as she has 4T,4S and a 3A but she just cant keep it together during the actual skates and of course her issues with 3f and 3lz so instead of medals she couldn't even crack top 20 in moscow championships. Representing Azerbaijan she really doesn't have a domestic rivals that could beat herso even when she ends up struggling she still will get international assignments.

Good luck to her, exited to see if she will get it together and deliver a clean free here.

Finally! After what was a lot longer resurfacing than I was expecting, we're back.

Well, at least it meant that I got finished watching the episode of "Watching" that I started watching during the dinner break.

I probably could have fitted the word "watching" more times into that sentence, but that would be over-kill. :p

Her closest rival is probably Sabina Alieva, who scored 130 at JGP TUR this season. Let's she if she can beat that in her first international competition.
You never know with her she has multiple ultra c jumps but is really weak when it comes to 3lz and 3F as she gained them after her quads.

She either does extremely well and goes clean with multiple quads or she has a nightmare skate, there's really no in-between for her.

I really like Nikas dress, mixed bag from her the start was pretty rough but she managed to recover nicely in the second half

Incidentally, Alieva was actually entered here as well, but was a withdrawal before the SP.

It would have been nice to see them go head-to-head and do a proper comparison. But, hey.

Only 1 mistake which was a fall on her 2nd 4S is an extremely good result for Arina!

Her jumps are very impressive when she lands them so big and smooth especially her quads. Smart to only go for a 4S instead of the lay out she was trying at the start of the season.
