And it wasn’t Jason’s decision, it was USFS. Jason followed the rules, justly qualified, and had a great Olympics. But if you don’t like the (correct) decision, you shouldn’t “forgive” USFS, not Jason.

If it is a gift, I can see the US federation sending Jason to Worlds because it is at Boston, and he will sell tickets.

I'm not putting much stock in US Nationals scoring winning other championships. It's Nationals scoring, it's inflated. And besides, other countries may not be as lenient on calling.

100%. USA has the most inflated scores, followed by Russia
Canada is fair on singles (minus Maddie)
Inflated with Dance scores
China and Korea are super accurate
Japan is accurate, but, underscores (especially the Juniors)

you know, some federations inflate their scores more than others. Some Nationals also happen earlier in the season. We'll see how your statement that besides Japan Andrew is probably the best in the world at the actual event itself... in Boston.

Grassl, Shaidorov, Aymoz, Siao Him Fa, Cha, even Britschgi and Rizzo could beat Andrew even if clean + all three Japanese men.

Don't hear me wrong, Andrew's performance was stellar and my favourite from the event but he does a two quad toes, two triple axel program... It's not unusual of a layout to pretend that the second US man would beat pretty much the whole words but Japan.

Andrew can get top 10. And the third man just needs to make the final so a short program score of 74.

That why I am the fence about just sending Jacob to Worlds. He can get 74 points with his junior short programs. I think I would trust him more at this point than Camden and Max. If we are going what we need for the spots for the Olympics from the top 2 why not use the last one for a skater who would gain so much experience. I think that they should keep the 3rd spot bank until 4CC's and Junior Worlds after those competitions look at where the skaters are and pick the strongest one to go because I am uncomfortable sending a skater who just manages to have a good competition at Nationals. I would like a bit more consistency than that at this point.

An absolutely wash between Cam and Max but both decisively beaten by broken Boot Brown. I have NO idea how this will go.

I don’t want to get too ahead of myself because I know Alisa is not a jumper but…..omg. I’d be lying to say if I didn’t have thoughts….

I believe the rules say that different types of events have different weight. So you'd need to break down GP scores and Challenger scores...

Nope. I’m half white/latino
I appreciate good figure skating when I see it and the Russians are super talented.
I love E/M!! They are so good!! They might actually be my favourite pairs team. And this was due solely to their GP skates. However, after the Chinese won the last Olympics (loved them with their quad twist), I will be 100% supporting M/G to win their first overdue gold medal

In the past other countries have waited until after EC/4CC to name the team but 4CC is close to Worlds this year.

True, other countries often hold off on making the final decision for their world team, and use 4Cs or (especi9ally) Europeans as a skate-off among equally well-qualifies aspirants.

For whatever reason, USA never does. The world team is often announced within a few minutes ofter each discipline is over at Naruinals, and that's that.

I agree with thi this, especially Japan. They seem to be the only federation that takes it as a point of honor to score as closely as possible to international standards.

Not that there is anything wrong with a national federation trying to hype up their skaters. We fans can just smile smugly when the super-scores are announced.

No Jason did not take that Olympic spot from Ilia. It was Vincent Zhou who took it. Jason and Vincent were basically tied separated by a fraction of a point, though if I had been doing the judging I would put Jason above Vincent. It should have never been a choice between Ilia and Jason.it should have come down to choice between Vincent and Jason and let's be honest Jason had the far stronger "Body of Work" than Vincent did. So if you are going to be angry at someone be mad at him.

The one real reason to pick Jason for Worlds is not about spots... it's not about other competitors... it's simply about selling as many tickets as possible... but does Boston need this with Ilia already there ?

My reasoning is that Max wants it more. He comes from a skating family and he doesn’t juggle work like Camden does.
My faves for Olympics would be the Russian Americans: Ilia, Andrew and Max

Just like 2020 junior worlds. They went together.

Make the free skate. My guess is that 74 in the short maybe the cutoff.
