Can anyone enlighten me what's going on with Jun and military exemption? Does he need to win this particular competition to get it? Or podium is enough?

For the benefit of the newcomers, our commentators are Belinda Noonan (AUS) and Duane Dell'Oca (ZAF).

We already knew Belinda is good, but I have been so impressed with Duane. He may be a general sports commentator, but he is a true professional that clearly goes to the effort of doing his homework beforehand.

Valiant effort from our adult skater Low!

This AWG has been such a great avenue for small-fed skaters who aged-out of JGP yet nowhere near competitive in the senior ranks.
In what other event can we see an adult skater in the same competition as world & olympic silver medalist!

Ok, he scored 84 total and there was 1st place shown. What about Yuma and Jun, aren't they before him even only with sp score? How does it work technically?

the skaters show up in reverse order, so Yuma and Jun will skate last and second to last

stoopid Chicago program...😝
Go back to The Matrix or The Piano for Worlds (I'll take Amelie at this point...)

Congrats to Chaeyeon! Great skate, Well deserved win!
Funny, I had to think of her Amelie Program today, too. So many great programs she had.. how did it come to Chicago.

Erm, it happens more often than you may think. Because Midori Ito has become a regular competitor at the ISU International Adult Competition.

But, I know what you are getting at. And I agree. It is great to see.

That's actually a very good point.... I think Low should've been in 3rd position behind Yuma & Jun's SP score. Maybe the software has never handled this kind of scenario before 😅

I'm with you on this. It shouldn't matter whether it is made up of 1 score or 2 scores, a higher score is a higher score.

That is how it works in Ski Jumping. If somebody's combined score after both of their jumps is lower than the score of somebody who has only done their first jump, then the jumper that did 2 jumps goes behind the jumper that did 1 jump.

But things work in strange ways in figure skating.
