I think that's a good split. They were not gelling at all. I feel for them but yeah... sometimes, splitting is good.
Does Brooke have to sit out another year if she tries to return to skate for Canada. I do feel a bit for Brooke. Its nice her family has the resources to help her dream - to go to the Olympics but it looks like it didn't work with Marco. Realistically 2026 is not going to happen. She is very tall and I suspect feels some "pressure" because of the success he sister has had in swimming and even hermom swam at the Olympics

I can't tell about family pressure. 2026 was never going to happen because she didn't have Spanish citizenship. She will have to sit out one year from her last event unless she finds another Spaniard to skate with. She could skate domestically though. In any case, she'll need to find a partner and get elements ready again so it is not a short way back to the ice

Why never? In Spain it is not a problem to get citizenship if an athlete represents the country in continental or world championships. Brooke and Marco missed technical minimums this season but obtained one for the next Europeans. And there still might have been a chance for citizenship in case of successful olympics qualification.

Really ? Then I stand corrected... Maybe I should move to Spain. I love Barcelona. If it's that easy to get citizenship :) why not ?

It is reasonably straightforwards if an athlete is a citizen of another EU country. Brooke is not.

Kirill Khaliavin wasn't either. I thought Olivia Smart would have some preferences as a former EU citizen, but they both got equally in the preolympics off-season.

Lived in Barna for the better part of a year. Loved it but this was in the 80s and preOlys. Was changed $$$ when I went back in late 90s. But still a great place to live.

That's a shame. I thought they were a promising pair when I saw them on the JGP.
They had a rough time at US Nationals and that must have been the final straw.
Too bad they had great programs.

William Lissauer (USA, ice dance) has unretired, but is not back with Emily Renzi as he's on Ice Partner Search.

Emily Renzi and William Lissauer (USA, ice dance) are back together as a team. William decided not to retire for college.

Lissauer is not back together with Renzi.
He is on icepartnersearch as of today, and his profile indicates that he has switched to a different coaching group.

Okay, I haven't checked there today yet. I'll edit my post, I thought to they'd gotten back together due to the picture he posted of them.
