Bradie is on the entry list. 👀

It's nice to see Alexa Gasparatto getting an international assignment, too.

At Challenge Cup, I was wondering where Kerr/Castelletti were (as multiple other US pairs were entered), so I guess here I have my answer. Also, super surprised at a Kazakh Novice pair, I really didn't expect that.

Excited Canada is sending skaters! Also really happy Bradie gets another competition, I will always have a soft spot for her, and nice to see Emilia Nemirovsky as well, enjoyed her skates at the qualification event for us nationals.

Will the streams be free? I don't see any indication yet that they're going to be paid.

I think putting the symbol for a paid stream in the info box on the front page of the forum was just an innocent mistake. Because at the time that the info box was updated for this week's events, nobody knew where the stream would be, as the channel that the Polish Fed normally broadcasts on had been taken down.

I hope the streaming on this new channel is as good as it was on the old channel. Because the old channel really did set a high standard.

Just over 4h 15m to go until the action kicks off!

(Yes, I pressed "Post Reply" too soon! I got mixed up by there being a resurfacing on the top line of the timetable! )

This week's skating action kicks off now in Łódź where it is Ice Dance Tuesday.

We start by going through all levels in Solo Dance, and then we do it all over again in Ice Dance.

And I am pleased to report that they are doing it the way I like, i.e. having all the novice levels do their first set of Pattern Dances, and then going back to the start for them to do their second set of Pattern Dances. I hate it when each level has to do their PD1 and PD2 back-to-back.

Unfortunately, it appears to be one of those (fortunately rare) streams on YouTube that you can't pause or re-wind.

All the links for today are in the OP. (I'll get the details for Day 2 added in before the action starts tomorrow).

Please note that the Time Schedule PDF's for each segment don't work. However, we are fortunate in that the overall Time Schedule for the whole event is very detailed, giving the start and finishing times for each group, for the resurfacings, and everything.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

Ach, I forgot that Solo Dance is now being done as mixed competitions.

So, if the Hungarian boy doesn't outscore all the girls, he is going to go home without the 🥇 Gold Medal he deserves. And if he finishes in any of the Top 3 positions, one of the girls is going home without the 🥉 Bronze Medal that she deserves.

So unfair on the skaters affected.

CaroLiza_fan

Awwww. We have three Hungarians skating in a row. And the first of the two Hungarian girls, Skater #4, stayed in the results area for the boy, Skater #5, getting his scores. And she held up a Hungarian flag!

She stays in the lead, with the boy going into 2nd position.

The other Hungarian girl, Skater #6, will be first to go after the Group 2 Warm-Up. So it will be interesting to see if we have all three of them sitting there for her getting her scores.

EDIT: Yep, all three skaters and their coach are occupying the seats. Skater #6 goes into 2nd position, so we currently have a Hungarian 1-2-3, with the two girls ahead of the boy.

CaroLiza_fan

Oh, I just noticed that I didn't actually say that it was the Basic Novice Solo Pattern Dance 1 segment that we were starting with.

And the last Polish girl spoiled the Hungarian party. Awwww, she was so excited when the scores were announced and she found out she had taken the lead!

Straight onto the Intermediate Novices now for their corresponding segment. And again, we have 1 Hungarian boy in what is otherwise a field of girls.

The difference this time is that all the girls are Polish. And there are only 5 skaters altogether, so just 1 group. Which will take us up to the first resurfacing.

CaroLiza_fan

We're back for the Advanced Novices. And, like the Intermediate Novices, we have 1 Hungarian and 4 Poles. But this time, they are all girls.

I should add - in case anybody is wondering if any of the Hungarian Solo Dancers are siblings, none of them have the same surname.

And then after the Advanced Novices, we go back to the Basic Novices, who will take us up to the second resurfacing.

I'm going to be watching these groups while eating. So, if you are wondering why I am being quiet, that is the reason.

CaroLiza_fan

Just a quick comment during the Group 2 Warm-Up to say that the girl that was last to skate in PD1 was the last to skate in the Group 1 Warm-Up of PD2. And she was just as happy when she went into the lead this time. She even did a little dance while still sitting on the chair when the scores were announced.

Although the girl sitting with her was in her civvies, I take it she was a team-mate rather than a coach. Put it like this - she looked around the same age as Skater #5 (or maybe even a bit younger)! But, the thing I couldn't get over was that she looked miserable the whole time she was sitting there, and showed no reaction at all to the scores.

CaroLiza_fan

The Intermediate Novices started with the boy, and he had a fall and banged against the boards.

But, he was none the worse for it.

He had been last in PD1, so the fall won't do his hopes of getting a medal any good.

He was disappointed when the scores were announced, but he knew it was coming and so was accepting of it.

CaroLiza_fan

And that is it for the Solo Pattern Dances. We now have a combined group for the Junior and Senior Solo Short Dances. 2 Junior girls, followed by 3 Senior girls.

I am looking forward to seeing one of the Senior skaters in particular. Megan PARNELL-MURPHY (GBR) is the wife of Viv PARNELL-MURPHY (IRL), the first skater to represent Ireland at Junior Worlds back in 2010. (He finished 41st out of 46).

CaroLiza_fan

And here she is! The second of the three Senior skaters that finish off this group.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST MEGAN!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Well, that programme was a barrel of fun! "Big Girls Don't Cry" follwoed by "Do You Love Me"

And Megan was certainly having a lot of fun out there!

Megan and her coach sat down on the first two chairs they came to. And then, after she put her skate guards on, she decided that they should move onto the middle seats. And it was funny the way she smiled and then jumped over to the next seat!

She goes into the lead.

:cheer: WELL DONE MEGAN!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

That resurfacing brought an end to the Solo Dancing for today. The rest of the day will be "normal" Ice Dancing.

Same routine. All the PD1 segments, then all the PD2 segments, then the two SD segments.
