And now that Group 2 of Advanced Novice PD1 is finished, we go back to the Basic Novices for PD2.

They have been really rattling through the competitions today, with every resurfacing break arriving earlier than scheduled and, as a result, the intervals have been longer than scheduled. And I hope that the same happens with the next resurfacing. Because I would quite like to see all of Intermediate Novice PD2 before I leave for food.

Unfortunately, I will definitely miss all of Advanced Novice PD2. And I am not sure yet how much I will be able to watch afterwards. But, I do hope to be back at some stage.

Typical! I want things to run ahead of schedule, and they go and put on the wrong music for the first partnership in Intermediate Novice PD2!

I have a feeling I am going to have to leave before this group is finished.

Oh, hang on. I forgot that this is the level where two partnerships withdrew before PD1. So, with only three partnerships left, I will see all of PD2.

You know, the withdrawals probably explain the music issue too. Because those partnerships were supposed to go at #1 and #2 in PD2.

I take it Jáchym NOVÁK is the younger brother or cousin or something of their coach, Matěj NOVÁK (the original Ice Dance partner of a skater I really liked, Lucie MYSLIVEČKOVÁ).

Well, he isn't sitting with them, so we can't see if they look like each other.

Diane SZNAJDER / Jáchym NOVÁK (CZE) go into the lead.

But it is not by much. They are just 1.21 points ahead of the twins partnership, Enikö KÓBOR / Zoárd KÓBOR (DEU).

It says a lot that I am finding it odd that there are not more sibling partnerships here. We have one sibling partnership in Advanced Novices; two in Juniors; and one in Seniors. (One of the partnerships that withdrew from Intermediate Novices was a set of twins). Maybe this is why I am so hoping that Jáchym and Matěj are siblings!

It's official. I'm old.

When Villo Mira SZILAGYI / Istvan JARACS (HUN) finished, I said "Now Villo, find yourself a jumper or you'll catch your death!"

Gaaaahhh!!!! That's what old people say to young people!

To be fair, the costumes were actually nice. But there just wasn't a lot to her's.

You know it's not going to be good when a skater covers their eyes when the anouncer starts talking, so that they don't see the scores.

That is exactly what Polina did.

And that resurfacing brings us to the final competition of the day. The Senior Short Dance.

Just the four partnerships.

I see we are finishing with Corinna HUBER / Patrik HUBER (AUT). Does anybody know if Corinna will be competing in Unified Pairs at the Special Olympics next week with Dominik?

If she is, it's probably just as well that there is a full seven days between the Ice Dance competitions finishing here and the Pairs competitions starting in Turin.

Spotted your comment when closing windows in preparation for going to bed.

Milla and Nikolaj were the first to skate. And Nikolaj was very frustrated when they were waiting for their scores, putting his head in his hands a few times.

But, it is not as bad as he thought. They are only 1.09 points behind the leaders.

Day 2 livestream is now on air.

We have a lot of jumping about between the various Entries / Results pages today.

• We start with 7 competitions on the "Additional Groups" page (the skaters from the various boys competitions are all going in one group).
• Then we have one segment (Girls - Initial U7) on the "Interclub" page.
• Then we go to the "Solo Dance" page for the Solo Dance Free Dances.
• And finally we finish on the "ISU" page for the Ice Dance Free Dances.

Now you understand why I have been putting together a combined timetable in the OP. To make things easier to follow.

They are definitely catering for a younger audience watching the younger skaters!

Wow. Across all of yesterday's competitions, we only had 2 withdrawals.

Now we have had 3 withdrawals in today's opening group alone!

The withdrawals include the two Lithuanian skaters. So, we now have an all-Polish competition.

My goodness, they are playing a weird version of the "Mission: Impossible" theme while they are going through the motions waiting for skaters that we already know aren't here.

Kinda appropriate!

The first girl in Group 2, Skater #7, was skating to what I assume is the version of "Let It Go" used in the Polish dub of "Frozen". I don't know who the singer is, but she is as good as Idina Menzel!

Surprisingly, the wee girl wasn't wearing a "Frozen" inspired dress. But it was a nice dress nevertheless.

She goes into the lead.

Awwww. We just had a little girl, Skater #9, who I am guessing has Korean heritage. She was skating to the "Pink Panther" theme. She wasn't wearing the traditional "Pink Panther" type of costume, though. Instead she was wearing a really beautiful red dress with black trim. And gloves. And cat's ears.

The costume was adorable! And so was she!

She goes into 2nd position.

Now, taking us up to the first resurfacing, we have the boys. All of whom are Polish.

This group is actually made up of 4 competitions, with 1 entry each.

So, all of them will be going home with Gold Medals.

Due to the 4 withdrawals from the Initial U9 girls competition earlier, we now have an extended break.

Back in 35 minutes from now for the Initial U12 girls.

We're back for the Initial U12 girls, followed by the first two groups of the Initial U15 girls.

Just a few comments I want to make about Group 1.

Skater #1 was wearing glasses during her programme. But because they had clear plastic frames, you couldn't see them. I only realised she was wearing them because the lights were reflecting off the lenses at times.

Skater #3 was skating to a Polish version of a song I recognised. But I just can't think what it was, and it is really annoying me! She was wearing a royal blue dress... and black boots! Oh, and when she came to get her results, she was carrying a cuddly koala that was bearly as big as she was!

I take it Skater #4 is a team-mate of Skater #3, because Skater #3 and the two girls that were with her stayed on. And they were joined by a coach. Skater #3 went into 3rd position, less than half a point behind her team-mate in 2nd position.

Skater #2 is leading.

Skater #5 was our fifth withdrawal of the day so far.

Suffice to say, Skater #6 was skating to "Hips Don't Lie".

She goes into 5th and last position. But, she doesn't seem to mind. She's happy.

I've a feeling that I've seen Skater #7 before. Because she looks very familiar.

Either that, or she looks like another skater. Or maybe even somebody I know.
