Help- my black boot covers stained my white skates! Does anyone have any ideas or advice on how I can get the black stains off my white skates without resorting to painting or tape?

I'm kicking myself in the butt right now for even using those boot covers since it feels so unfair and ironic that the things I bought to protect my brand new white skates from stains and scratches stained them.

Are your boots leather or synthetic? The procedure would involve slightly different cleaning solutions.

They're synthetic. Thanks in advance :)
Simpler to clean, then. A damp cloth soaked in some gentle laundry detergent should do it, depending on how old the stain is. I don't know too much about the composition of the synthetic material used for skate boots, but that's what works if I find a mark on one of my hard-cast vinyl (feels like resin or porcelain) dolls who's been wearing a dark velvet dress for too long. In pairs and dance it's black streaks from the polish on your partner's boots, and I always wear leather boots so have had more personal experience cleaning leather. Good luck!

Thanks! I'll try that! Fingers crossed 🤞 😊
