Shoma Uno

Am I the only one here who is fine either way whether he does that program or not? LOL

I distinctly remember when I first saw that program on TV...I thought "What is that? What IS that?!?!? Is this kid really doing that?!?!?" I was shocked by the choice of music and the sheer sensuality involved...and the shock still lingers a little bit...:dbana:

Also, I remembered something from last night where Shoma said he wanted fans who weren't able to see him compete to be able to see his programs...
Tears I won't be able to 😢

Since I wasn't following him when he was a junior, it made me think of some of his junior programs that were VERY good that I never had a chance to see. Choreo by Coach Fluffy.

Just had a message from my Japanese friend confirming that Sho appeared on a tv show where there was a 15 second advertisement for Worlds, and he said "Be sure to watch Worlds. I will be commentating from Boston." Glad to hear it.

Throwback Thursday. Shoma has never shied away from sharing the ice with other skaters. In fact, some of his duets have been super popular. And in this short but sweet duet, we even get to see an Uno Bauer, which I wish we would see more often.

I am very curious on what music they will decide to be in the show. Shoma's competitive and exhibition playlist has quite a lot of variety, hehe.

Great Spirit is obviously there, so thinking about similar tracks to it would be... Legends and Come Together. Bolero is also quite similar in terms of its relentless beat and speed. The Spectre is new but would fit right in.

Shoma and Marin shared a music in the past: Turandot. As a true and tested warhorse, this music can really fill the venue. And Turandot and Princess Calaf is not your typical romantic story, they can really infuse some intensity and rivalry in it too.

Of course Stephane the special guest himself has his marks all over Shoma's career: La vie en Rose, Loco, Winter, Turandot, Bolero, Gravity and EEAO. Maybe we can see a Bolero duet? Or a La vie en Rose duet?

Yes, the program Shoma has stubbornly never touched again after soooooo many requests is Loco. When we think about Loco there's Stairway and Tanguera, sharing similar characteristics to it.

And of course we haven't touched Shoma's classical and baroque repertoire......

Here are some of the comments:

It was difficult to secure a venue in the Tokyo area.
The offer to Stephane came when they were on the show together last year. "I'll help you with anything!" Stephane said.
I want to give Stephane as much freedom as possible when skating.
Someone from my agency asked me if I would like to do a show. When we took our idea to Colantotte, they immediately agreed, saying, "Let's do it!"
There are 18 programs in total. I've currently completed around 8-9 programs.Uno skates more solo programs than he does in his regular shows.
They sent me a set list from a previous production, and there was one song on it that they had never performed before. I asked someone at the agency if I could do that song ( ※ It seems to be a song used as background music for baseball games, etc.)
None of the professional costumes I've worn in the past have ever become too small.

(Thank you to azayakanablue for the comments)

I wonder if Shoma asked Stephane for this show over the dinner they had during JNats. I remember thinking Stephane sounded so dreamy and pleased when recounting it at his fan meeting 🥰

Some previews of the practice... is that Shoma and Marin tangoing in part 3/4 👀👀👀👀

Also always a pleasure to see Shoma working on dancing- he's such a good mover 😭 I always wondered that he would be too OP if he actually takes dance practice seriously lol.

👀👀👀👀 indeed!!

These subtitles are brutal. What on earth is "BGM used in balls."?...My suggestion to Shoma is that if he is going to do an Instagram live, he needs to ask for questions in advance.

The winner for bad subtitles is still " We will never again see him as a man" from his retirement press conference. Huh?
