2024-25 Canadian Figure Skating

I was in a bit of a panic, thinking it was starting tomorrow. Just realized that I was a week ahead of myself. Lol. In any case, I don’t see it set up on cbc (English) yet. I will check back next week! Thanks for the info.
It is our internal clocks. I also thought it was this week. Worlds last year, were this week ;)

It's been there since before 4CC. link

Molly Lanaghan and Dmitre Razgulajevs had a Lord of the Dance free dance last season. They split at the end of last season, Molly was on Dancing On Ice recently and won it.
Thank you, that’s the one! I really liked it. Did not know that about Molly. 👏 for her win.

Are you thinking of Pate & Bye? They did a free dance set to Riverdance-y music a couple years ago.

The best one is, of course, Bourne & Kraatz’ from 1997-8. Speaking of great Canadians!
I love Pate & Bye’s and it’s on my list. Since my fandom is pretty young I didn’t know about Bourne & Kraatz’s until researching for this list. It is outstanding!

Another to maybe add to your collection
Gauthuer & Therien Junior FD 2024-25 Robin Hood

Thanks for the tip! I haven’t had time to watch junior ice dance yet (I am capable of hoarding replays for months), but I quite like Sandrine and Quentin and am looking forward to checking out their FD.

Robert Brodie wrote about Deanna/Max from a pre-Worlds conference call:

“Last year, we had no illnesses, we had no injuries And this year, it’s been like sickness after injury, and sickness after injury that has just kind of been these obstacles that we weren’t expecting on the climb of this year’s mountain,” she said this week in a pre-Worlds conference call. “Before Four Continents, I was injured again. I couldn’t do any jumps or throws a week before leaving, so that was its own challenge gearing up to go there and keeping the courage and the confidence that I could still do it.”

I thought Deanna was sick last year and that was one of the reasons they were not in top form at the GPF.

Good luck to all our Canadian athletes.

I won’t be watching LIVE due to work
(I think I prefer watching figure skating live at midnight at a different time zone).

I have to find a way to watch at my own leisure without finding out the results during the day…… 😔

Robert Brodie writes about Piper/Paul from a pre-Worlds conference call:
“The way that our season was set up, we were kind of running around and didn’t have time to develop the programs the way that we wanted to,” he explained. “So we really had the time after the Grand Prixs to take a proper break and also just take some time to make some adjustments to the program and expand them where they needed to be expanded. But that’s just something that we’ve learned over time; we know it works. We know what sells and what does well and what shows off our best skating, so it was really a luxury of time more than anything."
