Honestly watching FS is wild because it is insane how like a number of arbitrary factors and a few very small things that could go either way could decide so much... whether a jump was called, whether a competition was held at a home country, whether the judges were generous with PCS that day (or had pegged you as "sufficiently not artistic" at all), whether the skater is known as a </q skater or not... And they all build up and build on each other over the years...

Of course if you are that much stronger than the rest of the field then sometimes none of those matters

Yuma… lucky he hung on for bronze. Really wish Kevin could have nabbed a medal.

USA may now be the best country in figure skating. 3 gold medals! Wow!!

Japan also solid with 4 medals. 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. Spectacular!!

Well, they shouldn't be in the Brown/Aymoz level, but certainly he deserved more than Shaidorov. Dock him a few PCS points and.....no effect on the outcome.
