RD requirements for 2025-26

Possibly sacriligious but I did not like Chock and Bates' music marathon. It was too much.
Not sure who holds the record number of songs in a medley…Hubbell & Donohue did the history of hip hop back in 2017 that also had a ridiculous number of music changes that also got seriously edited down by the end of that season.

I tend to think that Chock/Bates RD this year definitely wins that one. They had 11 songs in the first version and now 8. The most H/D ever had was like 4 down to 3.

I watched the live stream of Green Day's concert set from Coachella music festival on YouTube last night(Saturday). They were great. So much fun!
they got more interesting now that they're older, i didn't like their first works

No one has mentioned yet the rise of West Coast Swing in the 90s, which would fit for a quickstep.

I almost feel like we should take a poll of what songs we're most likely to hear.

Fair enough, I've heard Linkin Park and Evanescence played at parties but I guess they are just a tad more danceable than Radiohead...
they're 2000s though (my playlist as a teenager confirms it)
Kinda shame that Know Your Enemy is from 2009, I could totally see some teams doing it and very very musically wa-hey doing all the weird band choreo in front of the judges (and retiring quickly as if it was planned).
Basket Case is from 94, not my favourite, but it fits the theme and it would be a nice change from the overdose of boys/girls band we're going to get

I was teen, hated both deeply, now I don't have any edgy feeligs, but still don't find this music amusing.
It just always seemed to me that boyband hate is people being anti-girl interests. That's just my point of view. There are a lot of articles about it, how people hate things just because they're targeted for girls, like their interests are frivolous and shouldn't be taken seriously. Honestly, I'm always a little unsettled by the strong bias against anything more modern on this board, just in general. People here say they don't want war horses and then they don't want what skaters decide to use instead either. It's confusing to me. I also think boy band music is some of the more danceable music from the 90s.

no darling, it's because from the musical point of view it's the equivalent of junk food. although compared to contemporary pop it's basically Beethoven. not everything is patriarchy hating on women, some things are just low quality. in the same years when boy bands were blooming Alanis Morissette became famous and i never see anyone describing her as garbage; to stay in the 90s no one would call The Holes a girl band, you know why? they weren't a commercial operation created to appeal a young audience with simple music and pretty faces for commercial purpose, and just think no one of the boy/girl band surived the coming of age of their audience. about why people on this board arenot fond of more modern music i think it's because some of them were teenagers in the 50s (kudos to the grandads and grandmas that know their way around a pc, my mom can't even turn it on)

Nah, there isn't anything special into my dislike of boysbands and it has nothing to do with me disliking girly stuff (I mean, when I was 10 or 12 I dreamt about skating in flowy sparkly dresses, so girly stuff wasn't the case here). My dad had HUGE collection of 60-80 blues and rock classics. Being raised on this stuff, the 90 boysbands just hurt my ears. Having ADHD and auditory hypersensivity only made things worse, the 90 dance music seemed to be incoherent and painful noise, especially on these rare occasions I was forced to go to the school dance - because I was teen in the 90.
