When I was learning to drive, switching gears
was never one of my skills!

My parents and maternal grandparents were in the Greater Vancouver Light Opera Society when I was little and were in all the G&S shows. My grandfather always played the character with the patter song, and got such a kick out of teaching them to me when I was kindergarten age. I didn't have a clue as to their meanings, but happily drove babysitters nuts singing the songs over and over like a little parrot
