I'm also getting that today, immediately after signing in. I have to sign in a second time before it believes me. Then it says it sees I'm using an ad blocker and should disable that, in spite of having paid to avoid seeing ads. (I ignore that one and it lets me continue.) And it won't show me any alerts or my account details unless I click on any random post under What's New first.
I don't have a smart phone, but I have Chrome, Firefox and Opera on my laptop, and it's malfunctioning on all three. (For what it's worth, I'm also having trouble logging in to Facebook today.)
And I haven't seen any of the word games today. Usually you and I and several others are lobbing back and forth on those every day.
It seems to be behaving better this morning, thanks. We'll see. I obsessively clear my browsers and email every time I use them, a dozen or so times per day, so I always know that isn't the problem. Who knows what happened this time.
Usually clearing you cache doesn't do anything (except clear all values that you have previously entered, so it doesn't give you choices any more). But if a site has made changes/fixes, you may need to clear the cache to get them to take effect.
So I suppose the last of the many routine clearings-per-day that I did anyway may have achieved this as a bonus.
