The 2025 Cranberry Open will be hosted by the SC of Boston and will be held Aug 4-8, 2025, in Norwood, MA. This year's event will be a NQS (National Qualifying Series) event for the singles discipline.

This event will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of U.S. Figure Skating, as set forth in the current rulebook, and/or current Compete USA handbook as well as any pertinent updates that have been posted on the U.S. Figure Skating website.

The traditional U.S. Figure Skating Qualifying Structure is in place for athletes who want to compete at the United States Figure Skating Championships in singles, pairs, ice dance, synchronized, collegiate and adults. Singles, pairs and ice dance athletes who are juvenile, intermediate or novice compete to earn a spot on the National High Performance Development Team.

Huh??? I’m confused 😕
Did she fill out her entry form incorrectly?
How is a 12 year old Novice girl skater able to sign up for Seniors?
I looked in the USFS rule book since it's a US domestic competition. There are no age requirements for Seniors, the only requirement is passing tests.

And once you've passed those tests, you can't skate down a level domestically, even if you can't skate that level internationally.

Wow!!
Yay!!! So, Lia must have excelled at all her tests 😜
Ok. I’ve marked Thursday on my calendar 😝

So is there a stream for the domestic portion of the competition? It starts today. The link in the OP takes me to the international stream on USFS YouTube channel.

As far as I can see none of this competition is being streamed. The stream link takes me to the Challenger event rather than this NQS Cranberry Open event.

Correct. Unfortunately, there will be no stream for the NQS event :(

Quads landed... Triple axel... fall... everything rotated.

The real plus for me is to see, on top of both quads landed, level 4 on all spins and steps. I really like John Kim, he is filling my Conrad void and more.
I absolutely agree with you. I hope he stabilizes for the free.

Oh wow and no!!!
Lia did skate in Seniors.
Is she really doing two events back to back?
59.71 is her score.
This is not a good score for Lia.
I wonder if she went for 3A and fell or just had a 2A layout and fell or stumbled on one of her jumps.

She now has to hurry to compete in Novice Girls now….. 🏃

We’ll know soon enough but I was also thinking she went for the 3A because it is allowed in the short in Seniors. Probably wasn’t successful with that score….
