Thanks for starting their thread!
A little clarification: according to Skating Scores, Efimova/Korovin won six medals on the Challenger series: Tallin Trophy 2016 and 2017, Nepala Memorial 2017, Nebelhorn 2018, Golden Spin 2018, and Finlandia 2019. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think this thread deserves more activity

Just checked their Instagram and was happy to see this post:

How nice of Danny O'Shea was to comment!

In the high-stakes world of competitive figure skating, chemistry, dedication, and mutual respect are everything. For Efimova and Mitrofanov, their partnership has quickly evolved into something more than just a successful pairing—it’s a shared journey of passion, growth, and authenticity.

Looking back on the season, what are your thoughts about the progress of this team? What do you think of their programs? What would you like to see them skate to?

Alisa posted this photo on her Instagram:

Stunning! A question though: will Misha be able to focus on training? :laugh4:

Curiosity kills me - what programs to be for the new season, I am afraid it is still a long wait before we know!

Belated Happy Birthday to Alisa! (yesterday)
And another one coming - Misha's on Thursday, the 12th.
How handy is this - they can save on the birthday parties :laugh3:

And here is some food for thought:

What if the new program is R&J (as I secretly wished) ?!!!

^^ Ah, so they are both Geminis. A twinning pairs team! 😊

I do hope that something is definitely in positive progress to help pave the way for them to make the 2026 Olympics together. ✨

Thrilled to hear that Katia worked with them! Resemblance to Katia is astonishing.

Their long program is a tribute to Katia & Sergey to mark 30 years of Sergei passing

I am currently obsessed with this team! I loved their programs last year and hope for programs equally as special.
And what do we have to do to get Alisa her citizenship in time for the Olympics!!

Alisa and Misha haven't revealed what process they are doing, but since she's only been in the US for two years, she pretty much needs a bill passed by Congress and signed by the President. Not impossible, but the USA never grants instant citizenship to athletes for the Olympics so it would be a very special exception. I can't think of any other path that would be feasible for her. At any rate, I hope they have a good year, and if they don't make it to the Olympics, they might even podium at Worlds given that some of the top pairs are expected to retire after the Olympics.

I think nothing as far as citizenship for Alisa will be resolved until late December. It might well depend on how well the team E/M does between now and then. I remember in December 2004 that the Act of Congress necessary to getting Tanith Belbin's citizenship was written up in the newspapers around Dec. 31. Our Michigan Senator Carl Levin was instrumental in pushing it through. So was a Representative whose name I don't recall.

I have high hopes that our legislators and president will see what a great thing this would be for US and that they'll cooperate together. We can hope! :)

Can't help adding that I can't wait to see both their programs, especially the FS tribute to G&G. I love 😍 that they're committed to romantic programs that also lean hard on classical figure skating, while keeping their technique current to today's requirements.

SP at John Nicks International

Sadly Alisa doubled the toeloop and was shaky on the throw but lots of positives too. Level 4 on everything but throw. The program suit them but needs more mileage. There are signs that the judges slowly warming to them - with errors they got nearly 67 whereas at 4CC they got 67+ for a clean skate.
And now off to wait impatiently for FS ...

This year you need a Group 5 lift in the short program — it has the higher base value, and that makes the difference in the scores.

I don't think their results at this point make any difference. Alisa's case is strengthened by having a world or Olympic medal, which she does not (Tanith was a world medalist and had also completed residency requirements.) Likely they are presenting their case with a variety of factors, not just sports achievements.

I wish Alisa (and Misha) ALL THE BEST in their quest for Alisa's citizenship.

I think they're being brave in they way they're doing is, and I also think they're wise to be keeping mum, simply saying it's out of their hands at this point, they've done everything they can. I'll continue to hope for legislators to see their potential, and to cooperate with each other.
