2025 Skate to Milano Men's Free Skate

Well I wonder how many people had Yu-Hsiang Li in their predictions...?!
I wanted to put him in my predictions. But, I thought I should try to be a bit realistic. I am so happy I was wrong. His skate was the higlight of the competition for me.

I think Vlad would be a good choice as well, with his more modern style and powerful skating.
I'm scared for his PCS, to be honest.

But on the tech side, he wouldn't get call, yes.

The problem is that both skaters who would probably be scored better internationally wouldn't be cleared by ISU.

I always though it was Peter, but with a super short second 'e' so it's basically Petr, but don't trust me! I'm still confused as to why Ivan is e-van and not eye-van...

Keep it together man! Although I think he's got it! How he'll go at the actual games with Ilia, Adam, Yuma etc is a question!

Are the neutral athletes allowed in the Grand Prix? Or will we not see Petr again internationally until the Olympics?
There is no second 'e' in Russian spelling of Petr's name, and it is not exactly 'e'. Pyotr is closer, but the use of y when trying to render Cyrillics into Latin is frowned upon.

As for Ivan, Russian has both vowels and semivowels, so Russian letter rendered in Latin as i is never pronounced as 'ai'. It's always 'eee'. Russian 'e' is 'ye'. There is also yo, like in Pyotr's name.

I liked Peter's program much better last year, this program...left me 'meh'. No way this beats Yuma. (No one is beating Ilya, even with a great program)

you make yourself suffer for nothing ;)
I know, but my default defense mechanism is prepare for the worst
the sun is rising on me. skating is going to kill me one day
I have died a hundred times over because of figure skating, to partially quote the famous poet Benjamin Clementine: as I held my breath on skaters I died a million times

OK the Jigsaw people are still going - they're interviewing a Mexico team right now! Not sure where they finished up, but they finished two 1000 piece puzzles in less than 2.5 hours. Man, it takes me that long to get all the edge pieces out :laugh2:

So, it's Petr, KOR (2nd spot), Donovan, UKR (probably Kyrylo) & Yu-Hsiang to round out the Olympic men's field.

I can't think of any country that might give up its spot (Maybe the 2nd Latvian spot? But they'll probably get him citizenship in time), but if one did, it would go to Davide, then FRA (3rd spot), then CZE (is there anyone else but Georgii?).
