You're right. I forgot that she almost always had just a 6 triple program. She can't get back something she never had. She literally had only one attempt ever and that was UR.

Usually everything is exactly the other way around than what is claimed at another site.another site crowd thinks it is criminally high though. Therefore I can't comprehend nowadays what the the person means when he says the PCS is a joke. They should be more clear.
Friend, we understand where your STRONG allegiances are but 'popularity' is not a requirement to get into international skating competitions. AIN skaters should thank their lucky stars they were even able to compete here. They were skating against mostly weak competitors, (Gubanova & Loena excluded) so of course I was expecting them to put down great programs in comparison. That being said, if they can remain healthy, they should be at least top 10 in Milano when ALL the ladies 'big guns' will be out.Adelia in less than best form still in off season mode, without the luxury of ultra-c, got the job done, no real errors, no falls, knowing she would held back with PCS so had no margin for error. Test of her nerves and passed it easily in the end.
With intensive training over the next 5 months I think she will be unstoppable in Milan.
And this event has proven we can have AIN skaters next season. They are quite popular with the crowd and viewers.
Interesting. That Australian judge really did hit the +button. Almost 10+ points for everyone, except for Loena who she held down.
The Azeri judge is the former Ukranian judge. Who has a big tail of fishy stories behind him.Interesting. That Australian judge really did hit the +button. Almost 10+ points for everyone, except for Loena who she held down.
Quite the contrast to the Azerbaijani judge who really really liked Loena.
I noticed it too. There were enough judges to provide a re-set for YK's bias trends. However, the end result was surprisingly bias-free. Go figure. The Azeri judge is the former Ukranian judge. Who has a big tail of fishy stories behind him.
Yes he gave the highest score to Loena. And even the lowest to Adelia ! Wow. Zero pro-russian attitude. Although his scores were outliers, so not counted for both of these skaters - that's how you create an illusion of unbiased judging without influencing scores.
And guess what - he didn't need to influence the scores. Because it was already done by the Georgian judge, who was banned once. Also by the Slovakian judge who is fluent in Russia. And by the Australian one, who judged her last competition almost 2 years ago. Wait, wasn't Jonathan Gurreiro's mom a representative of the Australian federation? And of course, by the representatives of Hungary and Israel, the two Russian satellites, in the tech panel.
I bow to your investigative powers! Hope the judge is okay.
Well, mission accomplished for Petrosyan.Still, I was kind of hoping that she would lay down a challenge going forward and give the other international stars something to think about from now to February.
Israel, Russian satellite
But none of the serious competition for the OGM - except Petrosian - were there. So the fact that the symbol for the notorious scandal got the biggest reaction, such as it was... ummm, predictable much? Its a relative term. Katy is obviously referring comparatively to the other skaters at the same event. The arena was at least half empty.
I look at it this way. Petrosyan went into battle leaving her big guns at home. She won anyway, despite respectable efforts from Gubanova and Hendrickx. She has enough to think about regarding her own performance, like learning how to skate well. Others do not.
Agreed. Gorbacheva's 4S is gorgeous. But I was talking about Russians without ultra-c, would Gorbacheva without the 4S be up there?Gorbacheva has a gorgeous 4S -- i am sorry to butt in, but she was Petrosian's approved sub here, so vaguely relevant to Chinese Nebelhorn.
Yes, i would say so. Murav'eva withiut 3A would also be there, as well as upcoming Petrova, Pleskacheva and Dzepka. I would strike Guschina personally, but that's just me. I like more dramatic performances or more elegant. Basically more. But this is out of the range for Chinese Nebelhorn.Agreed. Gorbacheva's 4S is gorgeous. But I was talking about Russians without ultra-c, would Gorbacheva without the 4S be up there?

Botton line? A ho hum competition that gave us no information about what to look forward to at the Olympics. If she skates like this at the Olympics she will not win the gold medal. If she skates like this and does two quads it is quite likely that she will, unless someone else can up their tech in the meantime.
To me, that is the reality of the situation, regardless of whose skating I like or don't like.
