This was impressive in its own right. Beautiful fight from Shifrin, and she saved her medal.

Sophia. Pretty white dress. Nice program and skate.

Shifrin skated not to make mistakes instead of skating to make beautiful.

It looked slow to me. She fought for it and will get her medal but not my kind of performance.

Well, it has to be a second medal for Sophia. Not because she skated perfectly, but because others skated worse. She won't beat Hana, and she shouldn't, but there's no denying her beating Seojin.

Shifrin ran out of steam in the end, but that was still a good skate. Her jumps look hard on her back. There’s something about her that reminds me of Nina Pinzarrone. Typewriter in the background is unnecessary. This music doesn’t need silly sound effects.

Pinzarrone is actually a good comparison, I'm surprised.

She has some of the good qualities of the other Panova skaters, some of the bad too, but also not the charisma of Ksenia Sinitsina, for example, though few have.

Seems like Mao will keep her golden streak going. Though I'm a little sad Hana won't get to go to the JGPF (which was a distinct possibility if she had won).

Shimada can compete. She replaced the 4T with a 3F which was a good decision because Bath was coming at her hot. That last spin right on a crescendo was great musicality.

Well done baby Mao To skate like that with sprained ankle, amazing. What a boss. First or second, doesn't matter, she can handle the pressure like almost anybody else. I hope she can now rest and heal her injury properly.

Unlike in SP Mao delivered well this free, easing the content was reasonable. apart from the opening Flip I did not notice any problem.
