I hope there will be a stream.

The Turkish events are normally streamed on the Turkish Fed's own YouTube channel:

https://www.youtube.com/@BuzPateniTV

Although there are not any tiles up yet, I expect the Gordion Cup to be broadcast on this channel. Especially since the domestic event that has just finished at the same rink was broadcast on it.

Incidentally, if you want to watch the domestic event, the Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi Competition, the livestreams have been archived. All the details are in the OP of this thread.

And if you are wondering about the name of the domestic competition, it was honouring a 14 year old Turkish-Italian boy who was murdered in Istanbul in January. The two boys found guilty of killing him were sentenced today.

Meanwhile, Gordion was an ancient city about 50 miles from Ankara. (The organisers of skating events in Turkey do seem to like naming them after nearby ancient cities!)

After the disappointment earlier of not being able to find a stream to watch the Swiss Open, the upside is that we can watch the Gordion Cup.

Livestream for the Junior Ladies SP is now on air.

Here is the link for the livestream:

All the other information you may need can be found in the OP of this thread.

Hope this helps

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

Is it the sound on the stream, or does the national anthem seem to have been speeded up? It's normally a slow march, but this is more like a quick march!

There are serious echoes in the arena. But, at least we can watch it.

There was a long pause after the Warm-Up. And I was starting to think the first skater had withdrawn. But, no need to worry, local girl Leyla ÇETIN (TUR) was there.

The person operating the camera was a bit nervous on the zoom at the start, but quickly got the hang of it. And once they did, the fog in the rink became visible. Hopefully it won't build up any further.

Leyla is such a tiny little thing. But she is a very good skater. A very promising prospect for the future.

She goes into the lead. Obviously. It will be interesting to see if she stays there for long.

The first foreign skater (and only one in this group) Varvara KOROTKOVA (UZB) made a few mistakes.

The camera operator was struggling to keep her in shot. And I put the blame squarely with the guy standing beside the camera filming Varvara on his phone. It was obvious he was getting in the way. And any time she was down at the far end of the rink, he was actually blocking the camera's view.

She made a few mistakes. So, Leyla will probably stay in the lead.

Yep, Varvara goes into 2nd position.

You know, the addition of echoes were actually an improvement to "Tango De Roxanne" :p

Music aside, that was a good skate from Bella AYDIN (TUR).

She is also based here in Ankara, although she was born in America.

She goes into 2nd position.

Ayşe Dila SUCUOĞLU (TUR) is the first skater of the competition that hasn't done a Junior GP yet.

She was good too! I hope it isn't long before she does get to appear at a Junior GP.

Like all the other skaters in this group, she was wearing a black dress. But the difference to the girls before her is that she supplemented it with a red sash and red gloves.

Oh. Her score is lower than I was expecting.

She goes into 4th position.

Deniz TARIM (TUR) is a skater that has stuck in my mind from the Junior GP Series. Because she is the first girl I have come across with the name "Deniz". Before then, I just knew it as a boys name. But, apparantly, it is very common as both.

Although it is black material, Deniz's dress has a large silver pattern on it.

I enjoyed her "This Is Me" programme.

However, she didn't score anywhere near as much today as she did when she was at this rink for the Junior GP in August.

She goes into 4th position.

Since we are now at a Warm-Up, here is what Wikipedia says about the name "Deniz":

Deniz is a unisex Turkish given name meaning "sea". It is used for both women and men. Deniz is the 63rd most popular name among males and the 69th most popular name among females. It is the most popular unisex name in Turkey.

Originally, Deniz was a masculine name. In a Turkish legend (Oğuz Kağan epic), the oldest Turkish ruler (Khan) Oğuz had six sons. They were Ay-Han (moon Khan), Gök-Han (sky Khan), Deniz-Han (sea Khan), Yıldız-Han (star Khan), Gün-Han (sun Khan) and Dağ-Han (mountain Khan).

Very interesting!

Opening the second group is Veronika LUCKO (LTU), the first skater of the day not to be wearing a black dress. She is wearing a green dress. Which matches her team jacket perfectly.

She is another skater who hasn't done a Junior GP yet, although she was at the Denis Ten Memorial Challenge a few weeks ago.

Everything about that was beautiful.

She goes into 2nd position.
