I would rather judges caught up not that the others messed up. However, I feel that because Italians are so favored, there is no chance of it, because for all of SD/D, H/V and M/K to mess up to the point they let Hungarians past them by the sum of two programs, no way. Add Italiand and M/B and K/O who can not mess up, and Hungarians are out of luck.

You guys, if M/B are getting 64 in PCS for this skate, then 71 in PCS for M/K is absolutely not overscored.

LOL... nah, 13 points difference. Georgians had a stellar short and the Canadians were held pretty low for a clean SP. But PCS given like candy to the Georgians in the FS with the Canadians still being held back.
The Canadian's FS was only 4.68 points ahead of the Georgians who gave up base value on a bailed lift and no combo.
The results were correct, but the judging was far from.

Both can be true. 71 is hella generous — but 64 was outrageously generous, yes... M/K were well-skated but not clean or without balance checks here and there...save those scores for the Olympics, judges.
But with that PCS with 3 major errors and real disruptions/issues in their FS, you'd think the Georgians were the ones who are reigning world champs getting "save-us-judges" PCS.
The most ridiculous thing is that the Georgians didn't even NEED it. They beat the Canadians by a country mile... if their PCS was about 60ish and and the Japanese were about a 67-68, that would have felt more appropriate/less inflated, and the results would have been the same.

After the entertaining short programmes this was a pretty poor competition. The Japanese of course deserved a clear victory but I’m not convinced of a 141. Surprised to see M/B fall apart, they looked so confident in the short. Well done to the Canadians, they deserved their place on the podium.

Well, to be fair, this specific Canadians are not exactly high on PCS, and that's with all the love. Their clean performance was one bright spot for sure!

I'm back later of a technical problem with speakers. Riku and Ryuichi FS was beautiful and technically balanced also some more expression also opera music allows to give the right expression to their FS. Was superior to the "Georgian" pair that trains in Moscow..
I thought they were glass. Often gold and bronze look similar. At least they're not shaped like Texas or a rooster.Ugh always hate those cheap looking plastic medals

Yeah, this was a disappointing FS, other than the Canadians and the Japanese. So many weird mistimed lifts that bailed. And errors you don't see often like the Armenians' pairs spin fall (don't think I've ever seen a fall like that on a pairs spin) which could have been oh so much worse given how close their blades were.
The “pause” in their program is crazy….

In SCI at least the medal looks like glass and has a more classy design, the SkAm medals are just cheap looking year after year.

Oh yeah, there's tons of things they have to work on - posture, lines, etc. But they were actually performing and looked happy out there whereas Georgia's performance was reading on their faces and affecting their usual finesse/lines/completion of movements.
I get that PCS is a variety of factors, and the Canadians are for sure a sub-60 team at the moment... but it just sucks/is demoralizing when you skate almost clean, would kill for even 60 PCS.... and then a team with 3 major errors and choreographic blanks gets 64 ... 7 PCS higher than you.
One judge (J2) gave the Canadians 6.25 for presentation - basically lower than everyone other than the Armenians (who might have even outscored them on presentation if they didn't have that freak pairs spin right at the end as their final impression).
Anyways, not gonna flay the judges too much, as I'm just happy that they got bronze (that they're Canadian is a plus, but I'm more pleased that they earned/deserved what they got in spite of the judging).
