British National Championships, 26-30 November 2025

Basic but safe from Wakana and Elliot. The safe is important. I think there is a bit of a mismatch in terms of their skill levels, but there is time.

Joel and Isla are the babies of the group, first year in juniors and they've made good progress - last year they were very novice with single twist and single throw.

Neamh and Daniel are really growing into a lovely team. Their lifts are particularly nice. I think they will be senior next year and I can definitely see them becoming a solid no. 2 to Ana and Luke.
I think the two senior competitions they did in the autumn have helped.

Yeah they really seem to be growing in confidence.

They are down to compete again at Golden Spin next week. They are still 9 points off Euro minimums so it's a long shot but could really be only one good (and generous scoring) competition away, so you never know!

Also every time I see Daniel on screen now I remember Ted admiring his shoulders during the JGP 🤣

They can do it if they are really clean in both skates. They need an extra 7.5 TES points compared to their best skate - which was junior and had one less lift.

I'm back playing catch-up. Starting with Neamh and Daniel.

So good to hear her name pronounced correctly for a change. Jenny Bill is the best!  :points:

Wow! 5 Junior Pairs this year and no falls! An excellent competitive event! 👏👏👏

Nice to see Elliot Appleby has the strength in the Lifts, so many ex Singles men don't.

The top 2 what a battle!

I don't mind telling you I've got tickets for the pairs free at Sheffield, partly on the tenuous but not completely unreasonable hope that Ana and Luke have a shot at the podium 🤞🤞

I think you're being a bit optimistic, but there's no harm in hoping! I am expecting the podium to be some combination of Hase/Volodin, Metelkina/Berulava, and Conti/Macii.

Choreographer Lloyd Jones.

:palmf:

I just knew it would turn out to be somebody that I should know. :slink:

To be fair, it's been a very long time since I last saw him.

By the way, I forgot that Isla Shenton was doing Pairs as well as Singles. :drama:

At least she fared better today with Joel than she did yesterday on her own.

Aw, we almost made it through with zero falls, oh well. Becca and Kyle are still junior eligible but I mean, why not go for the competition with the guaranteed medal? I appreciate them saving us from the sad single entry contest that happens all too often.

They are making good progress, looking more together. However Neamh and Daniel are about the same age and definitely ahead of them right now.

All of these teams remind me how shaky Ana and Luke looked 3 or 4 seasons ago and how far they've come.

Now onto the junior men which should be a good competition!

Oh I know but I mean, that doesn't put them far away and ice is slippery 🤣

Shame about the fall from Tim, he was looking good til that point.

Nice dramatic programme from Edward - love the 2 direction spin!
