Unlike Rinka, Ami has excellent jump technique. I'm not someone who enjoys her from a PCS perspective , lots and lots of crossovers, but the basic skating and jump technique with more maturity is going to be hard to beat.

I absolutely adore Ami's flow. She just radiates the joy of skating. I think her presentation will mature and she should be a star in the next quad.

Ami fell out of a 3Lutz that will likely get called UR and there were potentially other jump calls as well. 3Axel looked good! Her overall skating appeared cautious today and her musical interpretation appeared juniorish to me.

Finally Ami with amazing skate once again.The quality she brings is amazing.We can say we have someone who will feel the boots after Kaori is gone.
Best 3A today as well.Just shame on that Lutz but fxxk it.Also really nice choreo and she is only 17.

One mistake on triple lutz but otherwise clean & beautiful from Nakai. I didn't see jumps that should be dinged for rotation unlike with Watanabe. Maybe 2nd behind Sakamoto now? No, 1st!

Well that's the Japanese Olympic team. Decided. She will medal here, and the federation must see that there is a world in which Ami wins the Olympics. Rinka does not have that potential.
