Mone is a great skater but even at her best ( and this wasn't it) she never makes me feel anything except make me remember how much I miss Satoko who had worse jumps but brought all the feelings...

Hopefully Mone got those falls out of her system before Nationals and the Olympics. She has the best overall program (though I question those 3 cuts going together). Her attention to details and her transitions are superb.

Poor Mone CHIBA (JPN). Two falls early on in the programme.

Not the way you want to end the competitive phase of the event.

That said, the rest of the programme was good.

But she's not going to win. And may not even make the podium.

Her face when she finished said it all.

OK, I'm going to say it. Is it any wonder Mone made mistakes after Mie Hamada shouted in her face like that just before she left the boards?

Ouch! It was even worse than I thought.

She goes into 6th position in the FS, and 5th position overall.
