Seniors and juniors in men, women and Dance

Time UTC+2

Entries, results and schedule

Yle Areena is going to broadcast live, but Finland only, and probably Finnish citizens living abroad also, there are some rules how it is possible. Yledoes not approve VPN which is located to Finland. Probably not help but I but links anyway.

Senior short programs

Senior free program

And for some reason juniors are not shown free but probably available everywhere:

Junior competitions €

Streams in seniors Finland only live and free by Yle Areena, highlights - probably seniors only - will be shown on national TV later. No vpn allowed (I will update this later). In juniors it is different, I try to find out also later, so this is a placeholder so far.

Skaters have got the spot automatically, if they have medalled last season at the same discipline they take part in. Others are selected in qualification competitions.
In seniors there are maximum 15 spots and in juniors maximum 22 spots. Practically in Id and men everybody who has made it to qualification, get a spot. In women both juniors and seniors needed to pass qualification. ID had different qualification competition than singles.

21 names instead 22 in junior women and it looks like Darja Trubitson's name has removed from the list.

Here are some previews of the Finnish championships this weekend in Finnish

Juulia and Matthias will start their season also. Matthias comment about nationals: – "The goal is to skate the programs at the level we have been able to achieve in training. The competitions serve as good practice for us thinking about the the top-level spring competitions".

They started now and I will watch all seniors today.

Dance first.

Daniela and Matthew much better than last time I have seen them but still a bit slow. Twizzels were good. 56,43, unofficial SB. They have done EC minimums a couple of weeks ago and probably Finland will send them as there are 3 spots.

Yuka and Juho got also Rewatches as well as Daniela and Matthew. Commentators say Yuka has had a flu recently and they have been not sure if to take part in. There were quite careful this time. 74.99.

Juulia wearing a shiny dress and I cannot say is it copper coloured or purple or some else but some kind of metallic tone, a top and a skirt. Matthew is dressed in black. I loved their program. Not their full potential but quite good anyway. 80,51.

Matias Lindfors's costume has got some more colours.

Men skated at the level they have done this season. Very close Valtter, Makar and Matias.

Finland does not make olympic choices yet after this competition, only who will go to EC is told on Monday.

Women

1. Olivia Lisko everything was perfect. 1. 65,10
2. Iida Karhunen othervise clean but 3lz-3t with q 2. 63,60
3. Selma Väitalo 100 % clean must be her unofficial PB 59.50 she cries (for joy)

A couple of other notes:

6. Janna, not bad mistakes but not her best. Commentators say she has suffered from mycoplasma for a long time.
8. Nella, not her best, popped the axel and some mistakes but overall ok.

No WDs in seniors this time. Everybody who had got the spot was there.

I have not checked what is said to be Juulia's and Matthias's free dance on programs thread. They were thinking to have a new program but understandable they have kept the tango from last year.

AIUI, they decided to keep the tango even before Matthias' injury: good thing they did, the program needs more exposure 😁

So Matias will go to Euros. I wonder if Valtter will retire after this. He would have needed that 4t to get the spot, so it was worth of to take the risk.

Juulia's hair was bit of a mess though :no2:
I have often wondered it must be difficult to make it style as her hair is natural curly (I suppose it is natural because it has always been like that).

Janna is still in the same club, but has she changed coach? I think commentators said her name is Jonna Ylimäki. Alisa Drei is though there too.

I think Iida got the EC spot anyway, as she went to Zagreb+these scores are enough.

I would have liked to see the medal ceremony but the broadcasting finished. :frown: or will it be later?

Olivia 196,23+181,68=377,91
Iida 194,10+187,05=381,15
Did I miss any of Olivia's scores? Iida's is right I think.

I got the same scores. OMG, Iida slayed her FP 130+. Completely clean. That was an incredible skate. Olivia unfortunately had some mistakes today, 116+ but well done anyway. What a fight!
