Yes. It's also why I keep an eye on a lot of Japanese fans' Twitter account, the way they react gives more context on how the message is meant to be interpreted. Actually it's also why I tend to enjoy hanging around in the Japanese fandom for figure skating especially regarding Japanese skaters since 2018. Their reactions really help me give better context to the machine translations.

It's not for everyone but I find it fun! Especially this year because they gave me so much context on what Shoma has been doing outside the context of competitive sports / competitions. But also for other Japanese skaters. Most update accounts are run by English-speaking fans and they tend to miss a lot of context.

Shoma's out and about today! He's attending CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO's early previews for "CAPCOM CREATION: MOVING HEARTS ACROSS THE GLOBE" . Capcom is of course, the company who developed Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter, games Shoma's been playing with enthusiasm recently.

I wonder, with the vague talk of future skating plans floating about...is there a serious possibility that Shoma could come back as an ice dancer with Marin? Honestly, at this point in time, given the state of ice dance, I don't want to see him come back as an ice dancer. He's already had an amazing career and I don't think anything more needs to be added to it. But if Shoma were to come back, I would still support him somehow...it's not up to me to decide what he wants to do next.

Considering Shoma's mom tweeted about just how much less stressful their life is now that she doesn't have to worry about him competing, I don't think it's about returning to competition at all

Thanks for the clarification, I don't want to be stressed out about him competing either! I was actually watching that compilation of Shoma's JNats programs the other day on the Japanese TV service I bought for JNats, and it hit me that I felt so much more relaxed watching the programs I remember watching live during his competitive career now. There's no need to worry about any injuries or how the performances would set him up for Worlds or the Olympics because the future already happened...Some of the performances were also more beautiful than I gave them credit for at the time, given those circumstances and expectations.Considering Shoma's mom tweeted about just how much less stressful their life is now that she doesn't have to worry about him competing, I don't think it's about returning to competition at all

A lot of updates from Shoma 
He posted a behind the scenes vlog for Ice Brave 2 Shimane from his Smash Bros professional gamers' friends perspective. Kept, Paseriman, Shogun and Omnaoto all came (drove 14 hours to get to Shimane!) and they helped in creating the vlog. They gamed between the shows (of course) but they asked Shoma a lot of questions about the show... sounding exactly like curious journalists. Some footage are in, and the low ceiling of the Shimane venue really makes the lighting pop more than the other venues:
As posted above, he helped promote the new Capcom exhibition at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO, and tried their special menu and the motion capture features:
There's a really good interview of Shoma with Famitsu (a game media outlet) that I want to share but maybe tomorrow

I have also been enjoying both following Shoma and figure skating with so much less stress
Happy that you can feel the same, and I found Mama Uno tweeting out from time to time that she's been able to enjoy life while also still following skating and rooting for other skaters since Shoma's retirement very relatable too, it's like, ah, someone is going through the same thing.I relate to this so much!!! Especially this season has been throwing me back to the 2021-2022 season (the previous Olympic season) and I remember just how stressed and anxious I was for Shoma's future after his performances in 2021 Worlds and 2021 WTT. And then really freaking out for the 2022 Olympics because I thought he's made incredible progress in his competitive layout and mindset, but there are only three places in the podium and I didn't know if he's done enough... but even outside of the Olympic season, every Shoma performance felt so important and make-or-break that it can feel a bit too stressful at times.
Now that I can look back on Shoma's career, even the performances that didn't score well still has that beautiful musicality and power in them. I also watched that senior Nationals retrospection of Shoma, from 2011 to 2023. He's really one of a kind, since he was very young. It's nice to watch back from time to time and find most if not all of his skates very pleasing to enjoy, because of his quality.

(Yes, there was some nervousness involved as well...but I think awe may have been a bigger factor for me)

Same. It was magical, and his reaction was precious. The crowd roared. He was SO happy. Unfortunately I always forgot to breathe during the free, which is WAY too long to go without breathing.

Me too. I’m planning on it hopefully in the next year or two. I think Prince Ice World would be a good one to see him at since I think it is twice a year it is held. And there is a meet and greet.
