Ami has learned jump math and strategy - painfully and repeatedly as a Junior - and that makes her stronger now. If there's a mistake, she immediately course-corrects and continues on as if nothing happened.

A really good skate from Mao, not quite her best but still incredible. That 4T fall, in addition to her lower PCS scores, left the door open slightly for Kaori, she gets basically no points for the 4T attempt if it's underrotated, and some of her jumps were just the teeniest bit tight, but she is still amazing and that TES score is going to up because of the input error. She is going to be a real force to be reckoned with in seniors.

Should be relatively easy for Kaori to win if she can skate close to clean.

I would say that Rinka Watanabe was underscore here, she was scoring in PCS 65 at GPF and 67 at Skate America. Give her those PCS here and she would have surpassed Amy. And the top 3 would have been Kaori, Mone and Rinka.

They'll likely correct it to a 4T< or 4T<<. Unless she was missing significantly more than half of the rotation, but I don't think so.

Who put such a music to a kid with no maturity at all?? Yesus christ.It this get 65+ PCS its compromitation from judges.
Technically great work,but that 4T is nearly all the time failed.Just give up or try to do something with this.

Well, the baton will be passed over to Mao Shimada starting next season when Kaori retires.

Japan skating is in good hands with this gem of an athlete. Her 3A is so solid!! Good attempt on the 4T and I love that she still goes for this jump.
