2026 Canadian Nationals : Men's Long Program

I have one major wish for the olympics: Stephen needs a better costume. It looks terrible. It reminds me of a cheap 1980s polyester v-neck sweater that a grandma would wear. It is not suited or tailored to his physique, and not befitting of Rachmaninoff, nor an Olympic appearance.
There are no quotas for 4CC. All countries who all eligible to compete there get three spots in each discipline.

How tall is Gogolev? It's strange, he doesn't look particularly that tall but he is very thin with very long arms. He lacks control of his body movements and so, he looks quite clumsy on the ice. It's a real pity because it takes a lot away from his performance.

A couple of mistakes but his tech generally holds on, and he wins this thanks to his SP advantage. Not the most engaging skating or performance though, from the skates I saw, not just Keegan or Roman were better performance-wise, but even the skater before him, Chiu. Hopefully he can improve.

Sadly, I think his free skate program is interpreted badly
it's getting better
But, he has great combos and is a fighter!!
definitely. 3f-3a is awesome
I’m just glad the decision to send GoGo is an easy one. I’m don’t agree with the PCS score. GoGo should have been in the 70s. Roman had the best free skate to me.
70s ? I think 85 is a bit high... but I think that he should be in the 80s. there is a lot of content in this program.
My selections:

Olympics/Worlds: GoGo
(Alternates: Roman, Aleksa)

4CC: Roman, Aleksa, Wesley
JWC: David B
You went with the logic for selections.

My selections are almost the same but I'd put John Kim for 4CC instead of Roman. I think Roman will retire.

1.85 meters... Pretty tall.

Oh they're bring them out starting with bronze now, I like that more.

This will be such a tall podium.

Technical is pretty close to roman, actually. Only a few points higher! I could almost see Roman winning the free skate, although obviously it won't be enough to put him ahead overall

As long as he landed some jumps, they weren't gonna send him to the Olympics without a nice big score and the title

I think it will come with time. Even just since the GP you can see an improvement. I imagine he's been really focusing on getting the jumps back, and now that those are coming together, they can really start refining the rest of his skating.

I wasn't able to watch those nationals, though!
too bad, there are many videos on YouTube :) and perhaps even here on rewatch threads.

last year's Nationals were very weak for men... many injuries and sick skaters. This year was good. I am happy.
