It wasn't much of a Finale. But, I suppose that's what happens when you have a competition on the same day as the Gala. There isn't time to put together something spectacular.

That is why I always prefer when the competitions finish on the Saturday. So that they have all of Sunday morning to put something together and rehearse it.

Yep, that would make sense.

Although, I am surprised that they would go back to America at all. I would have expected them to go straight to Italy, and make sure they are fully acclimatised and over any jetlag for when the practices start on Saturday afternoon (Ice Dance is first up).

If you follow Emi and Vadym's Tiktok (which is really fun btw), Emi went over their crazy schedule ahead of the Olympics. They flew home on the red eye right after the small medals ceremony and should have just landed now. They'll have a media summit in Novi tomorrow, have a few practice days, and fly to Milan on Thursday. Energizer bunnies!

Wow! That is indeed a crazy schedule! Not what you need going into any competition, never mind a Major!

I don't really bother with social media any more. I used to use Facebook all the time, but when the pandemic hit, I got fed up with all the rubbish that was on there and didn't go back for 3 years. And since then, it is only once in a blue moon that I visit.

As for Instagram, I only joined because they introduced limits on how much non-members can view. But even then, I have never posted anything and only visit if I have a specific reason.

Never joined Twitter or TikTok as I never saw the point in them. And I never visit them either.

Golden Skate is my main port of call nowadays.

Watched the Gala....am I missing something? Chris H. said "Ow-kee" instead of Ah- Oh- kee
I liked seeing the local talent. Yuna scared me with some almost falls that didnt happen thankfully.....
Skate of the night was Mone at 36 min to Madame Butterfly.
The grand finale was a bit light but dont care....
