The Finale is to "Greatest Day" by Take That.

Ana and Luke kicked off the opener, and they kick off the Finale!

Then everybody else came on at the same time, did a short mass routine, and then went off on their lap of honour.

Talk about an anticlimax!

Hang on. The fire performer from the Opening Ceremony has come back. But, she wasn't there for long.

And now the kids in the flourescent costumes have got the flags that they had in the Opening Ceremony back.

Then another lap of honour, and line-up in the middle of the rink.

Then a third lap of honour, to "Spice Up Your Life".

They showed a group of skaters from the British team in the audience. I'm sure they're peeved off that they are just watching and not taking part in the Gala!

And that is it for the 2026 European Championships in Sheffield.

The audience in Sheffield deserves special credit. They greatly contributed to the show with their passion. Of course were patriotic with their own skaters but from what I have seen I never felt they were unfair to the others.

I agree. Great atmosphere there I did not expect.

Btw, what is it with the man swinging the woman around like this. We have seen this more often recently. I thought it was forbidden, and tbh I get worried every time that something goes wrong and the woman crashes her head on the ice. Not good at all! It doesn't look that good either, so why do it?

Blame Adam Saio Him Fa and his backflips. Since he flagrantly ignored the ban, it seems the ISU is taking the attitude that anything is game now.

I agree with you. They were banned for a reason. Too dangerous.

I was ok with the somersaults getting unbanned. For what I know it was allegedly more about protecting the ice surface and piping than avoiding a health hazard. The swing-around is a different matter and should go.
