Excuse me, where is Karolina??
I've said it all along: She's going to be lighting the flame.
(I hope!)

I think the Roman Satellite is still in development- it's a different project from the James Webb, which has already launched. They renamed it Nancy Roman and then it briefly got cut from the budget. I’ll go check but…things are NOT good at NASA Goddard which manages it…

It reminds me of those plastic balls that stretch that I remember seeing at toy stores when I was a kid...that cauldron is trippy.

Thanks, I knew I could count on youI just checked, and that's right enough. They've only had Refugee Athletes at the Summer Olympics.
I thought there had been in the Winter Olympics too.

The 88 Olympics are special for me. It’s when my 11-year-old self discovered figure skating and I vividly remember the coverage of Tomba offered Katerina his gold medal!Nick Mullins has just listed a whole pile of people that will be torchbearers before they have even appeared.
Alberto Tomba was the only name amongst them that I recognised.

I'm glad it didn't rely as much on Italian stereotypes as the ceremony in Paris relied on French stereotypes.I like the opening, can say it was much better than the dogs breakfast that was of Paris 2024!

That’s wild! It was WFIRST…I’ve been gone a long time and always offhandedly thought they renamed James Webb! I was so sure I didn’t even bother to check, LOL.I think the Roman Satellite is still in development- it's a different project from the James Webb, which has already launched.
Trump has been attacking it's funding, but Congress has yet to approve the cuts
