2026 Olympics: General Info and Pregame Chat

Yup. That's where I'm going with my two spots for everyone granted they reached a standard score.

I had a great swim today. 2600 meters including a 400 îm race. Where's my 🏅?
Gosh, I'd give you one of mine if I could find them. Not Olympic ones, of course, but they'd still count.

I finally worked myself up to a mile swim a year or so back. It took me some months to do it, but still OK for 65. Since then, my pool in no longer available, so I'm glad I re-reached that milestone beforehand. I don't particularly care to continue lap swimming regularly, but I dang sure wanted that mile under my belt.

Same here. The impact is worse because Kaori is doing both , and possible Alissa.
Ami and Mone not doing any both capable of beating Kaori and alyssa .
Adelina for me has to be spot on to get the very high impossible scores to beat.

It could be a Japanese sweep or American sweep in women highly unlikely but possible.
The Korean ladies, Loena, Nina petrokina can spoil.
Honest the 12 women could take medals the 3 u.s. , 3 Japanese, 2 belgium, adelina, Nina peteokina, 2 Korean. Lara. T
If I had to bet on the ladies winner... and I'm glad this is only hypothetical because I'd never take such a gamble with real money... I'd bet on Alysa.

Why? Because the field is so danged tight that any mistake might be fatal. I think she's the most likely to skate two clean programs. That's what happened at GPF. She didn't win either the Long or the Short, but she didn't make any mistakes in either program, so Gold Medal thank you very much.

Hello! Would anyone know what is/are the Sportity password for the team and individual events? Thank you!

haha.. don't worry... I had plenty... I put them all in the bin when I decluttered a while back.

congrats. there is nothing that makes me happier than swimming laps :). I am a weirdo

Will the "Time for Each Skater" PDFs be available for the Individual events? I hope so, because I really want to catch certain skaters live.

There is a time for each skater file for the Team Men's SP so I presume there will be one for each non team event segment.

Just throwing this out there....I have heard a rumor that Peacock has a way to find out if your device is in the US, VPN or no. Dont know if that is true.....Financially, why would they care? If someone is in Bhutan and wants to watch and purchases peacock, what is wrong with that? The 24 hour leave it up rule is aweful....People have lives, doc apts, etc....48 hours is much more reasonalble. If I was out of country, I would look very hard at Japanese TV.....live and on demand for 2 weeks.....
Peacock doesn't care, but they only purchased rights for the USA. If people from other countries start watching Peacock, the rights holder from those countries will complain or possibly sue NBC/Peacock for damages. NBC would have to show that they are doing everything reasonable/possible to block foreign viewers.

Whoever is selling the rights (the IOC?) wants to keep rights holders happy, so they will be able to sell rights for a high price in the future. This trickles down to rights holders keeping other rights holder happy and not breaching their contracts.

I think I cannot watch RD. Whoever does not make it to the free, it is good team who disqualifies. 2022 scores needed have been 65,53. I suppose this time less than 75 will be too low.

Btw, why couple of events start so late even local time (10 pm Italian time)? Is it because of hockey or other ice sport earlier on the arenas?

Figure skating shares an arena with short track speed skating. You can see the depth of the padding on the boards that is there for the speed skaters' safety.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but has anyone attended the team event in person? I’m wondering what the organisation is like at the arena because I’ve been reading that a lot of other events like ice hockey and the opening ceremony have been a bit chaotic and run out of food etc. I head to Milan tomorrow so want to know what to prepare for!

Does anyone know if the ISU live stream (the one with Mark) exists for the Olympics? Have been watching the ISU feed for all previous competitions via youtube but can't find it now. Watched yesterday's team skate via CBC/Gem livestream after the fact, but as much as I adore Kurt, Carol and Brenda drive me crazy. Anyone?

The answer is no. Everything Olympics is rights, rights, rights. But, despite the inane commentary, at least Gem has everything. We recorded NBC coverage and their RD went like 'we don't care, skip', French, 'we don't care, skip', Italians, 'we don't care, skip', Americans. Like, maybe they have shown the Brits, but at this point I rage-quitted and went to crouch on the floor to play Gem from laptop to TV. Also, Gem replays don't have commercials. NBC nearly made my thumb fall off to go past all the garbage and see these three dances.
