Ok I'm not sure if that would be enough for keeping the lead, probably not with the fall and everything, but Jim's skate was the first so far today that has reached me emotionally. The music helped, but I really enjoyed his movement quality, even though his skating was rather slow especially in the first part.

And no, not even close to the lead, he gets buried way down :frown:

So, it looks like the ice is warm. It's too hot in the arena! Half the audience must leave...now!

OK, so for my boy, my birthday twin, Gumennik to get a medal. He needs at least 120 in tech...a flawless program...a score above 200. And then he needs the top guys to make mistakes.
Hmmm...seems like an uphill task...

Watching (off and on) on CBC Gem. Thank you to Kurt Browning for mentioning that Toller Cranston famously skated to Sabre Dance, when one of the men here did. Yesterday I heard that piece on a CD and was trying to remember if it was Toller who used it. Kurt spared me an internet search. :geek:

I assume it is just the date that you have in common with Gummennik. You've been hanging around with us bad influences for too long to have the year in common too!

I have Zac Hanson as an exact birthday twin...

I'm getting nervous. Any word on the ice conditions out there--I heard the short trackers haven't been happy. A lot of doubles and double-doubles (this event brought to you by Tim Hortons) and just general weirdness with the jumps. Has to be more than Olympic nerves. Is this venue at a higher elevation? What is going on?

Time to hyperventilate into a paper bag.

I remember the first time I saw Boyang Jin, Boston 2016, he got the bronze, he jumped like a spring and his jumps were so high, that the british uncles made jokes about his ability to change the bulbs in the stadium... He came back with his spiderman program. I loved it, he enjoyed it so much...
I don´t know if he hasn´t done anything remarkable since then or it is me that hasn´t been paying attention (this is problably the cause), but I love to see him still fighting.

I wasn’t gonna go on the Men’s thread after the dram of the Ice Dance thread, but I gotta know who the dude was who was holding the USA dog! The fall the Chinese skater took looked like it hurt, especially th angle he fell. All I could think was that I hope he’s wearing a cup because that would hurt if it hit at that right angle.

Vienna was a great piece of music for him a couple of years ago
