Personally I feel like Alysa was overscored on PCS, she was crawling over the ice.
She was very noticeably slower than Ami.

I just watched Ami's last spin and this judging is 100% fraudulent. She did a perfectly good Level 4 combo spin. All positions complete and solid. But they randomly downgrade her to CCoSp3V. This needs to be investigated.

Congrats to Alysa, Kaori and Ami!! And congrats to Alysa for such an amazing comeback. Maybe this will set a healthier example for women’s champions, mentally and physically? The Russian jumping prodigies from last cycle were technically more exciting to watch but it came at a cost they should’ve been protected from.

I think the judges wouldn't have given her the gold for a single, at least I wouldn't have. It would have been a close loss at a fraction of a point which arguably probably would feel worse haha (as I say through my tears as a Kaori stan)
Thinking judges can calibrate placements when the differences are so tiny is not realistic. It's just over two minutes and you'd need 12 people coordinating hundredths of a point. Even if they wanted to, if they could pull that, that's superhero levels of group project work. 😂

I'm thrilled for Alyssa but sad for Kaori. Kaori looked so nervous for this; not like the team event when she totally skated lights out.

This sort of reminds me of Midori Ito in 1992. All of Japan was holding its breath and counting on her that year. I think it was too much for her to bear.

Both gave their all and their incredible sportsmanship brought so much honor to Japan. 🇯🇵❤️

I had a gut feeling that Alysa Liu dressed in gold was gonna win Olympic Gold and it came true. Saori Sakamoto barely missed it by missing one intended combination. The delayed realisation & reaction to getting bronze by Nakai was priceless. So adorable
