Info 2026 World Figure Skating Championships

Do we know which countries will be represented in the judging panels ?
Do we know if our favourite judges are going to be there ?
I heard a rumor it was Georgia, Azerbaisan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and the PRK and 6 French judges but I have been wrong before.

I don't think Kaori needs any redemption really. She's been the best skater for this entire quad and it's not like she had a bad skate. Just a simple mistake with the flip combo.

Of course, for fans going to Worlds and for all of us streaming, I will be delighted if she's there. At the same time, I don't think she needs to prove anything to anyone and she should only go if she really feels like it.

I am so grateful for having seen her skate live. She's amazing.
You are correct for us. What we have to make her see is that she doesnt need any redemption or anything else to make her a Queen. I hope she follows MK on instagram and sees what happiness can be.

This may sound strange, but I always love the WC after the Olympic's. Some Olympians, especially if they had medalled, don't go, some do because they want to retire after World's, but you're always in for surprises. Suddenly a newcomer gets to shine, or an Olympian medallist doesn't have his/her/their day. Sometimes there's a surprise World Champion even. I realise that for many skaters it makes it a long and tiring season, but for me as watcher and fan, I am already looking forward to it in March.
It doesn´t sound strange to me, I fully agree. One of the best memories from post Olympics Worlds for me is Kaetlyn Osmond World Champion :love2:

Re: a "redemption" skate for Kaori, I may have been the one who used that word. That wasn't the best description.

I should have said that Kaori deserves another chance to skate as beautifully as we all know she can. She was marvelous in the Team Event and IMO could have won the gold if she had done that well in her individual FS.

She looked SO anxious when she took the ice for the FS and it was heartbreaking to see her in tears before the medals. I'd love for her to be able to erase at least some of those sad memories with a lights out performance at Worlds.

Go Kaori! :jump3: ❤️

Thank you.

Just for my own sanity :
No Nicholas Russell please.

Thank you.

Traditionally, are judges sent to the Olympics the same for worlds ? I am guessing that some nations may have more than one qualified judge ? Is it the case for Great Britain for instance ? :)

So if I understood properly, GBR has 3 ISU ice dance judges... so we have 1/3 to suffer again. :)

I totally agree- she skated well, just that one error-after all, she is a silver medalist.

Oh yes, that was fabulous. Nobody expected that at all, but she was the best at that moment. 4th in the SP, but the best ever FS. But Wakaba was pretty spectacular as well. I also remember Nathan being at his best here after a redemption skate at the OG, but still a bad SP. Here he did both well. On the other hand: Aljona and Bruno repeated here what they had done at the OG (but for them only in the FS, as their SP at the OG was only 4th place due to Bruno's doubled SBS jump). I personally liked the OG version better, but I wasn't inclined to argue. The things one remembers.

They topped their PB at those Worlds too, didn't they? Good times. I think the 2018 Olympics were the best ones in a while.

Yeah that's one of the withdrawals I'm most expecting to hear (along with Gilles/Poirier and Guignard/Fabbri). I also think it's 50/50 whether Jason withdraws, unless there's been a post from him personally talking about training for Worlds.
When do we anticipate the withdrawals occurring? It seems unfair to the alternates to spring this on them at the last minute.
