hi! i was told on another site to check this out as i live in florida and dont have access to a fitter. I want to get into figure skating and am aware of the basics and understand each skate is fit based. But i’m coming into this with outside experience (i do plan to get a coach and private lessons but id like to break in my skates and get used to things before i do that) Ive been competitively dancing for a decade and quit a couple years ago and have been inline skating throught my whole life and am looking for a boot/blade that isn’t going to be extremely beginner. My long term goals are to have jumps and spins and while i know i can/will potentially need an upgrade i would like something that’s in the middle. I’m 17 and weigh about 90-95 pounds if that is any help at all. My feet are also very narrow i know that certain brands are made for certain shapes. So far i have been looking at edea overtures as they seem to fit what i need but i obviously would like to double check and know how the fit is/ what blade i need :) thank you for any help!

Hi and welcome. Where are you in FL? I (we) could suggest a proper fitter for figure skates. You shouldn't do this w/o one.
You say your foot is narrow...what is the shape/foot type? Arches: Very high/high/normal/low/flat?

Once you've answered that I can go into more detail with suggesting boots/blades.

TIA!

Oh awesome! In the tampa area but would be okay with a 1-2 hour drive to have skates fit; i have a pretty significant arch to my foot, i used to be a ballet dancer. and as for narrow, zero curve whatsoever my foot is basically a straight line lol

thank you regardless!

Thanks for the reply but can you please click on the link in my last post and tell me which is your foot type from that chart? Thanks.

Then you want to look at Riedell and Edea with the way you describe your foot being flat and narrow. Look at the Riedell Stride (boot only).
You can also look at the Edea Overture, but if you have very strong feet and ankles from ballet, then I would look to possibly go up to an Edea Chorus.

You will need blades to go with your boots. MK Pro or JW Coronation Ace standard blades would work for you (do not need revs or lites at this point or possibly ever).

As for fitters in Central FL- Try Rinkside Sports in Wesley Chapel FL and only make an appointment with Nicole or Justin. You can also try Keith Smith at the Ice Factory of Central FL.

Good luck!
