2026 Junior World Championships | Women's Short Program

Okay folks, I am out, as I said I have to be up at six, will catch up tomorrow .

(The kids in the last groups, I am in awe of their fortitude waiting and waiting... they've got more than I have!)

In Ted's defense, the choreographers in Mayuko's ISU bio are listed as "Kaitlyn Weaver, Kana Muramoto" in that order, hence why Ted (and others) think that Kaitlyn did the SP and Kana did the free....
I'm not working as proffesional commentator yet for some reason I know very well this one is Kana's. Not that hard to check. And it pissess me off that some well known and established werstern choreographer gets credits for an amazing work of a way less established one (non-western), because western commentator for entire season neglects to do a proper research.

Venla SINISALO (FIN) wearing a dress in a couple of shades of green.

I don't know what the particular "Cirque Du Solei" show that this is from is about, but I absolutely love the song "Allegria"!

And I loved that programme!

She looks so worried waiting for her scores.

And she still did when the score was announced.

She goes into 6th position.

But then she found out that she had qualified for the FS. And she and her coach were absolutely delighted!

Angel DELEVAQUE (NED) wearing a beautiful black dress with sparkly blue sections.

Music is beautiful too.

And the skating wasn't bad either!

Jorick has walked in from digging up the water pipes outside the arena.

She goes into 9th position. So, two away from Qualifying.

It is kinda hard to check though - unless you keep track of program announcements in the beginning of the season (or a GS member), it's really not that straightforward.... I tried googling "Mayuko Oka short program", "Mayuko Oka choreographers" and can't find a straightforward answer.

Mark usually does in-depth research of most skaters, but he didn't correct Ted - so I guess he also just goes by the choreographers order in the ISU bio. Perhaps they should adjust the choreographers' section in the ISU bio so that it's tied to the short & free programs section to avoid any confusion.

I understand your sentiment about the wrong choreographer getting the credit - I just hope in this situation Ted & Mark will also praise Kana instead for the choreo of Mayuko's free program (as it's also a wonderful program). Two wrongs doesn't make it right I know, but better than Kana not getting credits at all 😅

Show GUST Go On
May I apply to proofread the titles for ISU?

And while you're at it, apply to the BBC as well. They badly need a proof-reader for their teletext service.

Anyway, Kira BARANOVSKA (LAT) is wearing a dress that is mainly black, but has a white patch on teh skirt part. And red flowes around the cut out on the back.

I always have mixed feelings over this music. I love that it is Queen providing the music. But Ksana Sergienko over-does the singing in the second half.

Skating was good.

She goes into 16th position.

She is disappointed.
