Wait…. You really think Kelly Ann and Etienne??? Wow!! Good observation. Smart boy!! This is why I love analyzing and going to this forum. This could make sense. Etienne and Kelly Ann with the 3S and 2A’s.

Something tells me it started with Loucas finding a new partner… me looking at potentially Fiona. Then, Kelly Ann is available so Etienne pounced. It will be interesting. I think one Pairs split, leads to a chain of splits…

if anybody can figure out this Pairs situation, we have @saine out there doing some detective work. Surely, we will know sooner than later

it's a crazy end of the season. I am developing a split ulcer at this point. I think there may be a chain reaction. It's about making the best teams for sure and something happened here. One good partner got available (won't speculate) and then chain reaction.

Let's hope for the best here. Sometimes, these things work out. Sometimes, they just do not.

Mervin Tran is a good example of that. World bronze medal and then nothing much (there were glimpses of brilliance with some of his partners but nothing ever led to the same level of success he did have previously).

I think the triple toe is an issue for Kelly Ann.. but they may indeed not need it with Étienne.

Also the new rules : no 3 jump combo... and Euler doesn't count as a jump

So it's possible they would indeed just do 2a-2a. and 3s

Ah yes, Trennt used to skate with Evelyn. I had almost forgotten that (says a lot about me and my memory). Funny, I also thought Trennt and Lia were sparkling right away, while Trennt and Evelyn were nice to watch but did not have the sparkling factor. I always liked Kelly Ann and Loucas too, and they did sparkle (in my view) in their FS at Canadians' this year. That was really good. Only once though.

And Emma and Nic? What could have been! I really liked those two.

I just find it hard to believe that Loucas would team up with Fiona after a good season with Kelly Ann. Fiona has been injured most of the season hasn't she? Although I guess they are both based in Quebec.

However I did notice that Kelly Ann is similar in age to Etienne and they do share the same coaches and school.

He is another one to chase after. Fiona or Kelly Ann pairing up with him would not surprise me. Yes. He is that good!

Miroslava - I went back to see her Novice Skate Trophy performance at Novice Girls. She has a solid 2A, 3S and 3Lo. Harder technical content on the jumps than Beau. Vladimir made a smart decision. I hope Beau finds a partner though. She loves Pairs and I like her and find her to be gritty

Goodness you have a lot of lasses looking for partners! It's actually worse than I thought, except for juniors. You have more junior pairs coming through than I realised, although I suspect they are probably very inexperienced at the moment.

Checking the criteria, Junior/Senior teams aren't included on C or D. But then they had Secunda/Ferland briefly on B before removing them before they had competed. It's definitely wait and see for them.

Ok. I should have read the criteria . So perhaps they are still competing but not getting any funding because well, they haven't competed successfully enough.

Ouellette and Laliberté-Laurent haven't competed yet. I don't remember Graves and Pierro competing either or even if they are still together.
Secunda and Ferland were very weak at Nationals... maybe they split ? I don't know.

I was hoping that team C and D were for weaker seniors not on B but if it's for younger skaters, then we will have to wait and see a bit longer

If Loucas is with Fiona, I hope Kelly-Ann will try out with Etienne Lacasse. Since someone mentioned it a couple of days ago, the idea has really grown on me. Kelly-Ann and Etienne are both able to perform and they are probably a fairly good fit from a technical point of view.
