His instagram post doesn't sound like he's retiring. He says he's more motivated than ever. And notably he doesn't mention that he's looking for a partner...
I feel that Kelly Ann would have wished him Happy Retirement if that was the case... they both wished other the best

sure but it does take time... look how long it took KMT to gel with Michael... in then end, Lubov and Dylan were better but still neither team reached the top 4 at worlds which is something MTM 1.0 had done twice before splitting.Yikes!! I always thought Kelly Ann and Loucas were a happy pair.
One positive note is that these splits can lead to more Pair teams with motivation to beat one another

or unless it's a thing like Kelly Ann is 20 and wants to keep at it for many years and Loucas, at 25 doesn't see skating for more than a few years... but again, that isn't always the best bet. I have some ideas I won't mention because it's just ideas... we will find out soon I guess.

Yes, Kelly Ann and Ben competed against each other for so many years in juniors and seniors. Height-wise, they would seem to match. I had thought Loucas was retiring to pursue fireman career goals. I thought Kelly Ann was retiring due to injury. I wonder what it is that prompted Loucas & Kelly Ann to desire finding new partners, especially after committing to each other for so many years.
The Loucas & Fiona possibility surprises me. Fiona has had injuries and she's run through many different partners in a short period. This continual fluctuation in partners reminds me of Natasha Purich, who was such a good pairs skater with every partner she had. Yet, Natasha bounced around from partner to partner practically every season. She had at least five different partners (four of them within four years). I thought Natasha was particularly good with both Mervin Tran and Drew Wolfe.
All the current splits are disconcerting. Happening in U.S. pairs, too. And so far, no new pairing announcements. For Canada, the ice dance splits are also intriguing.
Laurin/Ethier weren't originally going to Worlds - Stellato-Dudeck and Deschamps were. They may well have already made the decision to split and then started practicing programmes again when they were told they might be going to the Olympics instead of SD/D. That wouldn't have given them a huge amount to time to prepare for the possibility of being subbed in for Worlds, either.

So the government heard the post Olympic complaints about funding and is contributing 750M in funding for sport for the next five years. Most of the money will go to the different sports association. Among the things mentioned, hosting events and having our athletes take part in events are objectives. Skate Canada will have to do better because so far, not so good

This time our leading Next Gen Pairs team.
Etienne and Julia have split
Both will continue looking for partners!!!
OMG!! What is going on with our Pairs and Dance teams?
Étienne can do good triples (enough for pairs) so I am okay with this split. I don't think Julia can do triples and it's problematic as he will eventually want to be more competitive.
I don't think Beau has much better jumps either but I thought about her... I just don't see them blend really well.
Now, this could be interesting : Étienne and Kelly Ann have the same coaching staff. I can see this pair gel quite well in my imagination.
Kelly Ann could go back to juniors for one year btw... that would be weird considering she's been skating seniors for like 3-4 years now ?

Wait…. You really think Kelly Ann and Etienne??? Wow!! Good observation. Smart boy!! This is why I love analyzing and going to this forum. This could make sense. Etienne and Kelly Ann with the 3S and 2A’s.
Something tells me it started with Loucas finding a new partner… me looking at potentially Fiona. Then, Kelly Ann is available so Etienne pounced. It will be interesting. I think one Pairs split, leads to a chain of splits…
if anybody can figure out this Pairs situation, we have @saine out there doing some detective work. Surely, we will know sooner than later
