Hi everyone! I’m looking for my next boots, I think my blade is still usable so just looking for the boots for now.

My current skates is Risport RF3 (24.0 C) but I think it’s breaking down - it’s been almost four years. I feel like there is a lace bite, and a bunch of pain in the sides - just not so supportive.

My foot shape is egyptian, I have a normal arch but it looks “flat”. I would say its quite wide in the forefoot but my fitter (I don’t have access to anymore since I’ve moved) said its just normal width. My first skate was Jackson Freestyle but I was having a lot of pain in the arch.

I’m looking for recommendations for my next boot, thank you!

Edit: I forgot to add I have a high instep

Hi welcome. Height/weight, current skills?

You should never be in boots for 4 years. And if that is how old your blade is as well, it is long done for.

Where do you live now, so we can direct you to the nearest good skate shop and fitter?

Hello! The last thing I learned was a salchow. My blade is the same age, I got them together. They are the coronation aces, but I have not been skating regularly in the last four years.

The blade was a bit rusted but my local sharpener said that it should still be fine, and got rid of the rust on the bottom of the blade, and said that side of the blade shouldn’t affect your skating.

My height is 160cm and my weight is 83kg

I live in Southeast Asia but I’m visiting Italy/Spain in a few months
You're more likely to have a bigger choice in Europe, particularly as skating is big in Italy and becoming more popular in Spain, in some disciplines like ice dance, anyway. I'm on the west coast of Canada and don't know the shops in Europe, but hopefully someone on this international forum can give you suggestions. Good luck!

Based on your stats and skills, you need a stiffer boot. You also aren't in the correct type of boot for your foot type. With Risport, you should be in the other line of boots that they carry: The Royal line and you'd need the Royal Supreme as the Royal Pro is not stiff enough to properly support you and prevent possible injury.

With having an Egyptian type foot you would also be okay with Edea. I would suggest Edea Chorus for you.

You WILL need a new blade. Yours are way past their time and I would not trust trying to mount it on another new boot. Just get a new blade too.

You are fine with getting another JW Coronation Ace or MK Pro.

If you could let us know the areas or cities you will be near in Spain and Italy, I could suggest a fitter for you there to get your new boots/blades.

Good luck! 😊
