romance (novels, the "bodice ripper" kind, with the cover art of a long-haired man wearing a kilt and nothing else . Many years ago I dashed off a very decorous little novel with a genteel romance in the 1840s to oblige a publisher friend whose regular "beach-read" writer had taken ill suddenly. The printer was rushed and used the cover art from an 18th century burning-passion type of novel in their back catalogue. Long out of print now, I figured mine was a sure bet for an award: Novel Most Likely to be Left Behind in a Plane or on a Beach by Disappointed Readers )
