2026-27 Canadian Figure Skating

Interesting battle developing between David Bodnar and Aleksa Rakic after the SP. This battle could determine the TBD spot at Skate Canada. I hope they both score over 219

A new quadrennial. Hoping Canada re emerges from its lull it seems. Skating in Canada especially has is ups and downs. It will be intereestng and probably challenging as Canada rebuilds its dance program. without GP and LaLa. Pairs has huge opportunities with Deanna and Max retirement and a lo tof the other medal conteders splitting leaving it for Lia and Trennt. I hope the world bronze will inite them!

Gogo obviously has einvigorated the men. I will Miss Roman who is a beautiful skater. I don't find Wesley enaging and Paradis doe snot have the ech.

In ladies its too bbad Lia Cho can't compee and he age is oing to be ahuge issue She will miss the eliibilty cut for 2030 so she has to wait 8 years! That's a long time for the body to hold up. However, maybe she could make a dent at world championships. Some of he "hopefuls" look like they wont make it hence we see Gabby Daleman on the podium. But I guess we watch the Korean lady now eigilble (Min Sol??? can't emember her name. i am really impressed with Cho. And I do feel bad but Schizas just hasn't been able to do i. Sorry. A capabble skater bbut not particularly unique, tech skilled

it has been two olympics and canada has no team medal it could be three; if Russia comes back even though thy have been out ofro so long hey would make it harder for Canada in the team event.

They've updated the NextGen page to include the profile pictures and updated the listings. Added are:

Also it's nice to see Gabrielle Jugnauth being included as a sub for JGP Bangkok (y)

gosh... have you ever even seen Emily skate before. ?
It is all about David S. 😍 for me
He will be a Pairs Star for Canada.
I feel it!

Edit: I watched Emily PreNovice Challenge skate and was impressed. But, not impressed with her recent skates… too many under rotated jumps

well I admire your confidence.
I think I have been burned with my recent star projections (Nadeau, Phan, Orzel and now Vasii).

Robert Brodie interviews Kemp/Elizarov:
“We are adding triple toe-double Axel (as side-by-side jumps). Last year, we had triple Salchow, single Axel, single Axel,” said Elizarov. “Our throws are staying the same. We have three brand new lifts, which has been a huge thing we’ve been working on the last two months … now we’re really happy with them. They’ve come a really long way, but yes, three new lifts in our program, and the choreo(graphic) spin. That’s new for everybody.”

Lia Cho 😍
Won her first Challenger event as a Junior. She won by about 8 points at Cranberry Cup. She struggled with her backloaded 3Lz 3Tq.

Also, based on this result, I think Reese might lose her JGP spot. I would give one spot to Lia and Victoria. A third spot to Aleksa now. Aleksa surpassed 145 and if under 17, that means they might give her the spot over Reese.

I would then give the final fourth spot to Lia or Victoria (only if Victoria somehow medals or places higher with higher score than Lia)
