In case anyone is wondering why a skater/team is/isn't on the National Team, the criteria is:
  • Competing in the 2025-26 season
And
  • Top three at Senior Nationals and/or Senior Grand Prix assignment

That doesn't work for all skaters listed on the team.

Who does it not work for?

Sara-Maude, Katherine & Maddie were all on the podium at Nationals & have GP assignments, same for Roman, Laurin/Ethier, Pereira/Michaud & Stellato-Dudek/Deschamps, as well as Gilles/Poirier, Lajoie/Lagha & Fabbri/Ayer. Anthony & David were on the podium at Nationals, Stephen & Aleksa are host picks for SCI, while Bombardier/Mimar have been assigned to CoC and Lauriault/le Gac to GP de France. Did I miss something?

Oops, the way I read the criteria is that they had to be top three in an assigned GP event, not just assigned to a GP, sorry. Which is kind of a weird way to have it, since previous year assignment to a GP doesn't take into account how a skater performed at the stage.

It's not GP assignments of the previous season, but of the current season (so in this case 2025/26), which are usually based on past/current performance levels. Making the National team is also not that significant in Canada, as both funding and international assignments are not contingent on being on the "official" National team.
